Every January, thousands of people climb the Aon Building in Chicago to raise money for Lurie Children’s Hospital. This year, for the second time, Parts Town is joining in!
Throughout the month of January we have been raising money for the climb with our “Foodie Fridays.” Several people throughout the company have donated their time and cooking skills to this endeavor. We kicked things off with a bake sale, offering everything from brownies and cookies to German Chocolate Cake and gourmet cupcakes. We even auctioned off an apple pie and a lemon pound cake. When all was said and done, we raised just over $900 on this one day event.
Today marks the second Foodie Friday event. We will be selling chili with fixin’s, taco dip, and cornbread. And we won’t stop there. Next week is Lotsa Pasta day, featuring (we bet you can guess) pasta! All donations earned at these events will be given to our Step Up Team, “Jerry’s Heart Racers.”
Our passion for giving back has made the event a tremendous success, and we’re only just getting started. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be making such a fun and delicious contribution. Fundraising has never tasted so good!
