Crathco G-Cool Series Cleaning

Crathco has a pedigree of producing trusted beverage equipment for restaurants, cafeterias, cafes and more. Their G-Cool series of beverage dispensers is one such trusted piece of equipment. To ensure these units last for years to come, it’s important to keep them well maintained. Keeping your Crathco beverage dispenser clean and sanitary is the key to daily maintenance. Learn how to properly and thoroughly clean your G-Cool Series dispenser with the guide below.
This guide is applicable for the G-Cool C-1S-16 model.
Materials Needed:
- Liquid dish detergent
- Long cleaning brush
- Foam sponge
- Spray bottle
- Detail cleaning brush
- Sanitizer
- Paper towels
Daily Cleaning
Unit Disassembly
- Step 1—Turn off the power.
- Step 2—Remove the drip tray.
- Step 3—Drain the bowl.
- Step 4—Pull out lower graphic plate and lift it off to remove.
- Step 5—Remove the lid to the bowl.
- Step 6—Remove the bowl. Use caution when doing so as the bowl is fragile.
- Step 7—Remove handle.
- Step 8—Remove condensation tray by first unlatching the tray, then pressing and holding the panel. You can then remove the tray.
- Step 9—Remove channel cover.
Cleaning Procedure
- Step 1—Take all removed components to the sink to wash.
- Step 2—Remove and disassemble pump assembly.
- Step 3—Remove the dispense valve, and take off the o-ring.
- Step 4—Wash all components in warm water with a mild detergent. Make sure the water temperature doesn’t exceed 122 F/50 C.
- Step 5—Rinse all components thoroughly.
- Step 6—Wipe down the evaporator with mild detergent and warm water.
- Step 7—Wipe out the condensation tray with mild detergent and warm water.
- Step 8—Clean channel and front plate.
- Step 9—Clean the bottom of the dispenser and countertop surface with a paper towel.
Sanitizing
- Step 1—Mix up 8L of a chlorine-based solution per package instructions.
- Step 2—Soak components in sanitizing solution for 15 minutes.
- Step 3—Spray sanitizer into the bowl.
- Step 4—Spray inside of lid with sanitizer.
- Step 5—Let components air dry overnight.
Reassembly
- Step 1—Reinstall condensate tray.
- Step 2—Reinstall handle.
- Step 3—Inspect components for wear and replace if necessary.
- NOTE: Pump axle should be replaced if the flange thickness is less than 0.03 in. (.75mm), and replace impeller if the bearing surface is worn.
- Step 4—Reassemble the pump. You’ll hear a click when it’s secure.
- Step 5—Place the mixer in the bowl.
- Step 6—Place the o-ring back onto the dispense valve, and place the valve back into the bowl. Replace o-ring if necessary.
- Step 7—Reinstall the assembled bowl into unit.
- Step 8—Push and twist the valve into place.
- Step 9—Mix the beverage product in a separate bowl, and fill the unit bowl once mixed.
- Step 10—Place lid on bowl.
- Step 11—Reinstall the front graphic plate.
- Step 12—Reinstall channel.
- Step 13—Reinstall drip tray.
- Step 14—Turn power back on.
