Globe Panini & Sandwich Press Cleaning

Picture

A Globe commercial sandwich and panini press is perfect for any restaurant, café, food truck or other foodservice spaces; these units not only take up little room, but will help make delicious sandwiches for your customers. Cleaning is also a breeze, and can be done daily to help keep the press clean and running smoothly each shift. Learn how to properly clean your Globe panini or sandwich press in the guide below.

These instructions are for models CPPGS1, CPPGM1, CPPGM2, CPSGS1 and CPSGM1.

Cleaning the Cast Iron Plates

  • Step 1—After each use, scrape the grill with either a flexible spatula or scraper to remove excess food and oil. You can scrape these into the catch tray.
  • Step 2—If there’s any accumulation of burned food or cooking fat, scour and re-season the plates.
  • Step 3—Use pumice or a grill stone while the grill is still warm to remove any built-up food residue.
    • NOTE—Do not use steel wool to clean as steel slivers can shed onto the grill and onto food.

Daily Cleaning of the Body and Controls

  • Step 1—Turn off and unplug the press.
  • Step 2—Wipe down the stainless steel body of the grill with a clean cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner
  • Step 3—Wipe the polished areas with a soft, clean cloth.
  • Step 4—Wipe down all controls and/or knobs with a clean cloth.

Daily Cleaning of the Catch Tray

  • Step 1—Turn off and unplug the press.
  • Step 2—Let the press cool down, then remove the catch tray and dump the debris and residue into the trash. Use caution when doing so if filled with hot grease.
