Picture - How-to-Use-a-Bloomfield-Coffee-Maker

Bloomfield has helped start mornings off right with a fresh cup of coffee for years, whether it’s in an office, convenience store, restaurant or other foodservice establishment. Their easy-to-use coffee makers offer simple options to brewing fresh batches relatively quickly, and just about anyone can operate these units. Though it may seem a little daunting at first, brewing coffee in a Bloomfield coffee maker is incredibly simple. All that’s needed is some minor prep work and the ingredients to make a good cup of joe. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to use a Bloomfield coffee maker to brew a pot of coffee.

These instructions are specifically for the Bloomfield Koffee-King coffee makers, including Pour Over, Automatic and Automatic with Faucet models.

Bloomfield Coffee Maker Start-Up

Follow these steps if it’s the first time using the coffee maker, or if it hasn’t been used for an extended period of time. Before proceeding:

  • Check that the spray disk and brew gasket are properly installed in the brew head
  • Check the connection to the water supply and make sure it’s on
  • Check that the water tank is filled

Once you’ve checked these areas, you can move on to the start-up procedure.

  • Step 1—The water tank needs to be filled prior to plugging in the coffee maker. If the water tank needs to be filled, take the empty decanter and place it under the brew head. Lift up the pour-over cover to the tank and fill it with warm tap water until you see that water has stopped dripping from the brew head. Once the dripping has stopped, empty the container.
  • Step 2—When the water tank is full, plug in the brewer. The water will begin to heat within the tank. Once the water has reached proper temperature, the “READY TO BREW” light will turn on.
  • Step 3—Place a Bloomfield paper filter in the brew chamber and add the proper amount of pre-measured coffee grounds. Level out the grounds by gently shaking the brew chamber. Side back the brew chamber into place. You are ready to brew the coffee.

You can now brew coffee two different ways: by the “Pour-Over Operation” or the “Automatic Operation.”

Brewing Coffee with the Pour-Over Operation

  • Step 1—Check that the “READY TO BREW” light is illuminated.
  • Step 2—Place a clean, empty decanter under the brew chamber.
  • Step 3—Fill another decanter with tap water. Lift the pour-over cover and pour all of the tap water to fill the basin. This will displace the same amount of heated water from the tank over the brew head to spray onto the coffee grounds. Brewed coffee will then drip into and fill the empty decanter underneath the brew chamber. When the coffee has stopped dripping, it’s ready to serve.
  • Step 4—Once brewing has completed, discard the filter and coffee grounds and rinse the brew chamber in a sink. When the “READY TO BREW” light has illuminated again, you can start another brew cycle.

Brewing Coffee with the Automatic Operation

  • Step 1—Check that the “READY TO BREW” light is illuminated.
  • Step 2—Place a clean, empty decanter under the brew chamber.
  • Step 3—Press the “BREW” switch.
