Analox AX60 CO2 Sensor Calibration & Reset Instructions
When it comes to detecting CO2 and gases, Analox sensors are some of the best in foodservice and other commercial spaces. The AX60 and AX60+ are easy to operate and can mount seamlessly on your walls. On rare occasions, there are times you might need to calibrate the sensor. Not sure how? Below are Analox AX60 CO2 Sensor calibration and reset instructions you need to know.
Before Calibrating
Before you get started, there are a few things to remember. First, you’re going to need a calibration kit from Analox (Part No. AX60CO2CALKIT). This kit includes:
- 110-liter 100% nitrogen for zero gas (Part No. SA7L10308)
- 110-liter 3% carbon dioxide, balance nitrogen for span gas (Part No. SA7L10305)
- 5-liter/minute regulator to fit 110-litre bottle (Part No. SA7L705XFLIND)
- 2-meter neoprene tubing (Part No. 1817-5000)
- Push-in flow adaptor (Part No. 8000-0910A)
If you’re recalibrating a Ax60+ Kiosk sensor, you need to temporarily fit the portable calibration unit before making adjustment. Consult the operator’s manual for further instructions.
Finally, the sensor requires two calibration procedures: a zero and span adjustment. Below are the necessary steps for both. When you start either procedure, is automatically disabled. After 10 minutes, the calibration mode times.
Zero Calibration Procedures
The value during calibration is the “raw” sensor reading. The system status screen displays a slight elevation from the raw reading.
- Step 1. Check that the sensor is operating correctly and has power.
- Step 2. Hold down “Cancel” + “Cycle” for about six seconds to access the Top-level Menu.
- Step 3. Press “Cycle” four times to display “Calibration.” To then display “Zero cal.” and proceed, press “Accept/Test.”
- Step 4. Press “Accept/Test” to show the “Select” sensor screen. Then, press to select the Sensor you want to calibrate.
- Step 5. Press “Accept/Test” to choose the Sensor and display the “Zero level” (#) screen.
- Step 6. Apply the neoprene tubing (Part No. 1817-5000) to the flow adaptor (Part No. 8000-0910A). Fit the flow adaptor into the aperture on the CO2 Sensor before adding the regulator (Part No. SA7L705XFLIND) to the 100% nitrogen zero gas (Part No. SA7L10308).
- Step 7. Open the regulator valve and let the zero gas flow across the sensor for 1-2 minutes. Don’t block the flow adaptor’s exit.
- Step 8. The CO2 reading on the “Zero level” screen will start to drop. Make sure the reading stabilizes at around 0.0%. The reading won’t always return exactly to zero, which is normal during calibration.
- Step 9. Confirm zero calibration by pressing “Accept/Test.” If zero calibration succeeds, the Zero msg sent screen displays.
- Step 10. Press “Cancel” repeatedly until you return to the original system status screen.
Span Calibration Procedures
The value during calibration is the “raw” sensor reading. The system status screen displays a slight elevation from the raw reading.
- Step 1. Check that the sensor is operating correctly and has power.
- Step 2. Hold down “Cancel” + “Cycle” for about six seconds to access the Top-level Menu.
- Step 3. Press “Cycle” four times to display “Calibration.” To then display “Zero cal.” and proceed, press “Accept/Test.”
- Step 4. Press “Cycle” to display “Span cal.” Then, press “Accept/Test” to show the “Select” sensor screen. Press “Cycle” again to choose the Sensor to calibrate.
- Step 5. Display the “Span Cal Value” screen by pressing “Accept/Test.”
- Step 6. Enter the desired span calibration value by pressing “Cycle” repeatedly. This will increase the value by 0.01%. If you want to increase by increments of 0.10%, hold “Cycle” instead.
- Step 7. Reset the value and restart by either repeatedly pressing or holding down “Cycle” until you exceed 6.00%. This will take you back 2.50%, so you can cycle to the required value. To confirm the value for span calibration, press “Accept/Test.”
- Step 8. Apply the neoprene tubing (Part No. 1817-5000) to the flow adaptor (Part No. 8000-0910A). Fit the flow adaptor into the aperture on the CO2 Sensor before adding the regulator (Part No. SA7L705XFLIND) to the 3% CO2 span gas (Part No. SA7L10305).
- Step 9. Open the regulator valve and let the span gas flow across the sensor for 1-2 minutes. Don’t block the flow adaptor’s exit.
- Step 10. The CO2 reading on the “Span level” screen will start to drop. Make sure the reading stabilizes at around 3.00%.
- Step 11. Confirm span calibration by pressing “Accept/Test.” If span calibration succeeds, the Span msg sent screen displays.
