Fault Codes & Causes
Err 1
- Cause—Control board failure
- Solution—Call an authorized service technician
Err 2
- Cause—Control board failure
- Solution—Call an authorized service technician
Err 3
- Cause—Programming DIP switches weren’t adjusted properly when universal control board was installed
- Solution—Have the DIP switches programmed to match your specific MFG. # settings
Err 4
- Cause—Platen thermocouple has shorted out
- Solution—Call an authorized service technician
Err 5
- Cause—Platen thermocouple is loose, disconnected or open
- Solution—Call an authorized service technician
Err 6
- Cause—Control board failure
- Solution—Call an authorized service technician
Err 7
- Cause—Control board failure
- Solution—Call an authorized service technician

- Solution—Call an authorized service technician
Err 9
- Causes
- Programming DIP switches weren’t adjusted properly when universal control board was installed
- If programming DIP switches were adjusted correctly, then the AC isolator board and its wiring is faulty
- Solution—Have the DIP switches checked by an authorized service agent
Err 10
- Cause—Control board failure
- Solution—Call an authorized service technician
CHEC
- Cause—Ambient temperature in electrical compartment has exceeded 140° F/60° C
- Solution—Check for proper airflow to electrical component and call an authorized service technician if needed
HI
- Causes
- Platen thermocouple is disconnected or open
- Platen thermocouple’s temperature has exceeded 620° F/327° C
- Auxiliary heating temperature has exceeded 420 F/215 C and will display “HI” and “USE”
- Solutions
- Have the platen thermocouple reconnected or replaced
- Let the toaster cool down completely if you see “HI” or “HI” and “USE”, then turn off the unit and turn it back on to restart. If this doesn’t solve the issue, contact an authorized service agent.
PO
- Cause—Incoming power has dropped below 175 volts and causes the unit to shut down
- Solution—Turn the unit off then back on again. If the issue persists, contact an authorized service agent.
PH
- Cause—The A/C isolator board is defective or there is loose wiring between the AC isolator board and phase control
- Solution—Turn the unit off then back on again. If the issue persists, contact an authorized service agent.
