Bar Maid Cutlery Polisher Operating Instructions

Picture - Bar Maid Cutlery Polisher Operating Instructions

Bar Maid cutlery polishers ensure that cutlery has the streak-free shine that really wows customers. If you want to make sure your forks, knives and spoons come out as spotless as possible, these Bar Maid cutlery polisher operating instructions will help you use your equipment properly and efficiently.

This guide is for CP-3000/CP-3000-CE compact units and CP-7000/CP-7000-CE high-output models.

Preparing the Cutlery

Be sure the flatware is thoroughly cleaned and free of grease and other residues before polishing.

  • Step 1. Wash the cutlery - Clean the forks, knives and spoons by hand or in a dishwasher. If using a dishwashing unit, avoid crowding the racks to ensure all utensils are cleaned effectively.
  • Step 2. Ensure the silverware is wet - Make sure the flatware is wet when it enters the unit by either placing it in the polisher immediately after washing or keeping it in a tray of warm water until polishing.

Warming Up the Unit

Avoid direct contact with the drum and granulate to minimize the risk of burns.

  • Step 1. Plug in the polisher - Check if the unit is connected to a power source; if not, plug the power cord into a grounded GFCI outlet.
  • Step 2. Turn on the unit - Press the ON/OFF button to power on the machine.
  • Step 3. Preheat the machine - Let the unit heat up until the yellow operating light illuminates, usually about 30 minutes. The drum and granulate should reach about 120°F (48.9°C).
  • Step 4. Position the dish rack - Pull out the drawer and place the collection tray on top to catch cutlery as it exits the unit.

Feeding in Silverware

Reduce the risk of jams within the machine by feeding in a mix of forks, knives and spoons in each batch, rather than only one type of flatware.

  • Step 1. Guide cutlery into the unit - Pass silverware through the chute horizontally with handles pointed toward the front of the polisher. Remember that 4-5 pieces can be fed into CP-3000 machines at a time and 8-10 into CP-7000 units.
  • Step 2. Continue feeding flatware into the machine - Wait until the first batch of utensils disappears from view, usually about 5-6 seconds, before inserting more pieces. This will help minimize the risk of jams.
  • Step 3. Monitor the yellow light - Check that the yellow light stays lit while passing cutlery into the unit. If it turns off, stop and wait for it to turn on again before continuing.

Shutting Down the Machine

Enhance unit performance and extend its lifespan by making sure the granulate is dry before powering down the machine.

  • Step 1. Dry the granulate - Remove any moisture in the granulate by operating the machine for an additional 15 minutes after all flatware has exited the unit.
  • Step 2. Turn off the machine - Power down the polisher by pressing the ON/OFF button.
  • Step 3. Collect the cutlery - Retrieve the silverware by pulling the dish rack off the drawer and then using or storing the polished utensils as needed.
  • Step 4. Return granulate to the unit (if needed) - Replace any granules that fell out during operation by tilting the empty collection tray into the chute, allowing the loose granules to fall back into the machine.
