Picture - Bar Maid Glass Polisher Cleaning Instructions

Bar Maid glass polishers give glassware the brilliant sparkle that really impresses diners. Since these units play a big role in improving the customer experience, taking proper care of them is important. If you need help keeping your machine safe and sanitary, these Bar Maid glass polisher cleaning instructions will walk you through the process from start to finish.

The information in this guide is applicable to GP-100 and GP-100-CE models.

Supplies

Never immerse or spray the glass polisher, especially the base, in water since this can cause water to seep into the machine and damage sensitive parts.

Pre-Cleaning Procedure

Be sure to unplug the unit in order to minimize the risk of electrical hazards.

  • Step 1. Finish polishing glassware (if needed) - Allow the unit to finish polishing any glasses that are currently in the unit.
  • Step 2. Turn off the machine - Press the ON/OFF button to power down the unit.
  • Step 3. Unplug the unit - Disconnect the power cord from the outlet in order to minimize the risk of electric shock.

Cleaning the Exterior

Maintain the outer surfaces daily and the lint screen weekly.

  • Step 1. Clean the outer surfaces - Wipe down the outside of the base with a damp sponge.
  • Step 2. Dry the outer surfaces - Soak up any remaining moisture with a dry cloth.
  • Step 3. Clean the lint screen (once per week) - Remove debris from the lint screen on the bottom of the unit once per week.

Maintaining the Brushes

Clean the brushes daily or as often as needed to maintain good hygiene and top performance.

Cleaning the Brushes

  • Step 1. Remove the brushes - Take the brushes off the unit by rotating them counterclockwise and then pulling them off the machine.
  • Step 2. Wash the brushes - Clean the brushes with warm water and mild laundry detergent.
  • Step 3. Rinse the brushes - Wash away any remaining dust, debris or suds with clean water.
  • Step 4. Squeeze out excess water - Use your hands to press out as much excess water from the brushes as possible.

Drying the Brushes

  • Step 1. Reinstall the brushes - Return the brushes to the machine by inserting the short brush onto the center post and the other brushes on the outer posts.
  • Step 2. Plug in the unit - Restore power to the unit by plugging the power cord into the outlet.
  • Step 3. Spin dry the brushes - Press the ON/OFF button to power on the polisher so that the brushes air dry by spinning. Let the machine run for a few minutes until the brushes are dry.
  • Step 4. Turn off the machine - Use the ON/OFF button to power down the unit when finished.

Resuming Normal Operation

Ensure that the brushes are installed properly since loose brushes may break glassware or injure operators.

  • Step 1. Check brush installation - Make sure that the brushes are installed securely by gently tugging on them to see if they move; if they move, rotate them clockwise to tighten the connection.
  • Step 2. Use the unit normally - You may now resume normal operation of the unit.
