Picture - Blodgett Oven Shutdown Instructions

If your facility needs to shut down a Blodgett Combi Oven long term, here are the procedures in five easy steps.

  • Step 1. Power the oven off - This can be done by pressing the Power Button on the control or rotating your Mode Switch to the off position. BCX, BX, CNVX, HV and HVH models will have a circuit breaker at the bottom of the control and this should be turned off after powering down.
  • Step 2. Turn the water off - At the wall turn the knob for the water counter clockwise until it stops. If you have a lever, make sure it is perpendicular to the pipe. e.
  • Step 3. (For gas ovens) Turn the gas off - . At the wall turn the gas off by making sure the lever is perpendicular to the pipe.
  • Step 4. Disconnect power to the oven - For gas ovens, unplug the 115V cord from the wall outlet. For electric ovens, power it off at the main circuit breaker. This will either be directly behind the oven or at the main Breaker Panel. If the oven has a cord and plug, disconnect from outlet. 5
  • Step 5. Leave the door(s) partially open - If you have a Two Stage Door Handle open the oven to the First Stage. If you have a BC-20, HV or HVH crack the doors open and leave them. This helps any moisture dry out and helps preserve the gasket.
