Carrier Air Purifier Troubleshooting

While Carrier makes incredible air purifiers, it may seem to give you trouble at times. No matter if you have the RMAP-ST or the RMAP SXL, we have the Carrier air purifier troubleshooting tips you need to get your unit back up and running.

Solution

The air purifier won’t turn on.

Make sure the circuit breaker is working, plug the unit into a different outlet and press the Power button.

The filter replacement indicator is still on after replacing the filter.

Press the Sleep/Clock and Auto buttons simultaneously for five seconds until the air purifier makes a “ding” sound.

Remove the plastic bag if it’s still on the filter. Periodically vacuum the outside of the pre-filter to prolong its life and replace the filter when the indicator light comes on.

When setting up the air purifier for the first time, be sure to remove the plastic protective wrapping from the filter.

The control panel isn’t responding.

If the control panel is locked, turn off the lock feature by pressing the LED and Down buttons simultaneously for more than three seconds.

The color on the top of the air purifier is orange or red.

The colors red and orange indicate that the particulate or VOC sensor is reading elevated levels of pollutants. If the device is in auto mode, the fan speed will increase and draw in more air.
