Concordia Ascent Touch Coffee Machine Cleaning Instructions
It will come as no surprise that regularly cleaning beverage equipment can make coffee taste fresher, richer and all-around better. That’s because a routine scrub down gets rid of any present or future growth of bacteria, mold and mildew that might produce a cup of joe with an unappetizing musty, sour or overly bitter flavor. How to Clean a Concordia Ascent Touch Coffee Machine
You’ll need to follow these Concordia Ascent Touch coffee machine cleaning instructions every 24 hours, or the machine will shut off, and you won’t be able to use it until you perform the cleaning cycle. Once the cleaning icon displays in the upper right-hand corner, you’ll have two hours to clean it before the machine disables itself. To prevent that from happening, follow these steps below:
- Step 1. Open the door – First, open the door to get the option icons to appear on the top right corner of the screen.
- Step 2. Select the cleaning icons – Press the Daily Clean icon in the upper right-hand corner to the right of the coffee cup icon. Then, press the Start Clean icon that appears in the bottom right-hand corner. The cleaning cycle will take approximately 10 minutes from start to finish.
- Step 3. Empty the grounds bin – Remove and empty the grounds bin before returning it back to its original position. Then, close the door and press Next Step.
- Step 4. Brush off coffee debris – Dust off any coffee grounds and debris that may have accumulated on the grinder chutes and its opening with the white bristle tube brush. Use the paintbrush to clean the piston, chamber and sweep arm. Once finished, close the door.
- Note: Please use caution! The chamber and surrounding areas are very hot.
- Step 5. Insert cleaning tablet – Wait for the rinse cycle to finish. You’ll know when this is done when the display screen reads: Drop Cleaning Tablet into Chamber. Then, press Next Step to continue.
- Step 6. Place the cleaning tube under the dispense nozzle – When the screen instructs you, place the cleaning tube under the dispense nozzle. Then, press Next Step to continue.
- Step 7. Empty the grounds bin and clean the dispense nozzle – Wait until the screen instructs you to remove and empty the grounds bin and wipe down the dispense nozzle. Ensure you thoroughly rinse the grounds bin before returning it to its original position. Press Next Step and then Complete when it prompts you on the screen.
Cleaning the Drain Grate & Tray
Don’t forget the drain grate and tray need cleaning, too! Washing these external components at the end of every shift will help prevent unsightly messes that might stain the surfaces over time.
- Step 8. Remove and clean the drain grate – Pull up to remove the drain grate and clean it with a sanitizer.
- Step 9. Clean the drain tray – Clean the black plastic drain tray with a clean cloth, soap and water.
- Note: Do not wash these components in a dishwasher or clean with bleach or other chemical solution.
Cleaning the Exterior
Before you go, make sure you wipe down the exterior and all its components to keep the Concordia Ascent Touch coffee machine in pristine condition!
- Step 10. Clean the exterior surfaces – Moisten a fresh cleaning cloth with a sanitizing solution before wiping down the front panel and other exterior surfaces.
- Step 11. Wipe down the beverage dispensing area – With a wet towel, clean around the beverage dispensing area. For tougher stains, you may use a mild dish soap and warm water cleaning solution.
- Note: Avoid cleaning during the brew system cleaning cycle to prevent contact with hot water and chemicals.
- Step 12. Refill the beans – When you’re all finished cleaning the Concordia Ascent Touch coffee machine, make sure you top off the beans so you're all set to go the next morning!
