Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning the following is an essential part of routine maintenance and prolonging the life of the unit:

Interior

  • Wipe surfaces with water and soft cloth
  • Clean grease with damp cloth and mild dish soap
  • Dry with a soft cloth
  • Don’t use steel wool or abrasive cleaners

Exterior

  • Clean the exterior daily, after a prolonged shutdown and at start up
  • Keep the area around the unit clean and free of debris
  • Wipe with the grain of the steel
  • Dry with a soft cloth
  • Don’t use steel wool or abrasive cleaners

Condenser Coil

  • Condenser coils should be cleaned monthly
  • Vacuum dust build-up or use a stiff brush to remove debris
  • For extreme build-up and dirt, use a commercially available condenser cleaner

Gaskets

  • Clean on a daily basis to prevent mold or mildew
  • Clean with warm, soapy water 
  • Never use any sharp tools on the gaskets
