Delfield Freezer Troubleshooting

Having a freezer malfunction can be a serious situation for food safety. It keeps food at the right temperature and if it malfunctioned you could potentially lose any stored food. Below we will go over some Delfield freezer troubleshooting to help you gain an upper hand on issues before they get serious.

The following troubleshooting guide is for the Delfield blast chillers models CV5E, CV10E, CV15E and CV15E-2.

Freezer Not Turning On

  • Circuit breaker was tripped - Check that the circuit breaker hasn’t been tripped. If it has, flip the switch back and check if the unit is back on.
  • Unit not plugged in - Make sure to check that the freezer is plugged into an outlet correctly.
  • Outlet not powered - If the freezer isn’t turning on and is plugged in, make sure that the outlet is connected to power.

Door Not Closing

  • Gasket not sealing - If the door isn’t closing properly it could be a malfunctioning gasket. Check for any cracks or if the gasket isn’t sealing properly and replace as needed.
  • Hinges are broken - Check the door hinges for any misalignment or if any hinge is broken and replace these as needed.
