Delfield Ice Cream Freezer Troubleshooting
No business wants to be without a freezer during the busy months of summer. Delfield ice cream freezers keep frozen treats chilled and cold to help customers beat the heat, and if yours is malfunctioning, you need quick solutions. Below we have a short guide on Delfield ice cream freezer troubleshooting to help you resolve any issues you might be experiencing.
The following troubleshooting tips can be used for Delfield models N225P and N227P. For more Delfield ice cream freezer information, check out our cleaning guide.
Lid Not Closing
- Gasket not sealing - Check the gaskets on the lid to ensure they are sealing properly. If you notice any are worn or cracked, they will need to be replaced.
- Lid is askew - Make sure when the lid is down that it’s set in place correctly, with each corner fitting into the proper corner opening.
Freezer Not Staying Cold
- Air vent is restricted - If the ice cream freezer is not getting proper ventilation, this will cause the machine to malfunction. Check that the air vent is clear of obstructions and has proper airflow.
- Temperature incorrectly set - Make sure the set temperature is correct and in the right temperature scale. If it’s not set correctly, follow your manual to reset the temperature on the display.
- Condenser coil is dirty - When the condenser coil isn’t cleaned on a regular basis, it can cause the freezer to malfunction and overheat. Make sure you are routinely cleaning the coils and following your manual’s best practices.
- Wrong room placement - If your freezer is sitting over a drain or too close to warm/heated kitchen equipment, this can heat your freezer and not allow it to properly cool. Make sure that your freezer is clear of clutter and has the proper space to allow for ventilation.
Unit not Turning On
- Not plugged in - Check that your freezer unit is plugged in and that the outlet is connected to power.
- Circuit is tripped - Make sure that the circuit breaker hasn’t been tripped or a fuse hasn’t been blown.
- Loose connection - Ensure that the power cord is fully plugged into the outlet. Sometimes a plug can come slightly loose and equipment will then lose power.
