Dinex Food Cart Setup & Operating Instructions
Dinex food carts make healthcare food service fast and efficient while also maintaining food temperature and quality. If you’re new to this type of equipment, these step-by-step Dinex food cart setup and operating instructions explain how to use these units properly and safely.

Setup Instructions
- Step 1. Uncrate the cart - Remove the cart from the crate.
- Step 2. Remove the packing material - Pull the loose packing material off the unit.
- Step 3. Take care of the small parts and accessories - Make sure that small pieces and accessories aren’t accidentally lost or inadvertently discarded along with the packing material.
- Step 4. Inspect the unit for damage - Check to make sure there are no scratches, nicks or other signs of damage. If the unit arrives damaged, return the cart to the factory.
Operating Instructions
- Step 1. Clean the cart - Clean the interior and exterior of the cart before using the unit. Refer to our Dinex food cart cleaning guide for more detailed instructions.
- Step 2. Plug in the unit - Plug the power cord into a 120 VAC, 20 amp dedicated outlet.
- Step 3. Allow the unit to precool/preheat - Close the doors and give the unit 20 minutes for the hot side to preheat and the cold site to precool.
- Step 4. Load the cart - Once the unit reaches the proper temperature, load the trays of food into the cart. Remember to keep the doors closed as much as possible to help the food stay at the proper temperature.
- Step 5. Distribute the food trays - Unplug the cart and move the unit as needed to give out meals to patients in the facility.
