Dormont Blue Hose Gas Connectors and Accessories

On top of its line of Blue Hose products, Dormont offers a range of connectors, couplings, regulators and more. These are available on their own or in one of their many kits and come in an array of diameter sizes to perfectly fit with other Blue Hose gas products. Below are some of the additional items you can utilize from Dormont.

Blue Hose Gas Connectors

Whether you purchase them as part of a Blue Hose Gas Kit or separately, Dormont’s range of connectors, disconnect valves and couplings lets you customize your set-up depending on what you need. Connectors are available in a variety of diameter sizes such as ½”, ¾”, 1” and 1¼”.

  • SnapFast Quick Disconnect Couplings—Quick-disconnect coupling system that features a thermal shut-off and push-to-connect functionality.
  • Safety Quik Disconnect Valves—Features a quick-disconnect function that can be used with one hand along with a safety feature that prevents operators from turning on the gas accidentally when the unit isn’t connected to the gas supply line. Also prevents the hose from being unintentionally disconnected when gas is flowing.
  • Swivel Max 360° Rotational Fittings—Allows your Blue Hose to move 360° to decrease stress on the connector.
  • SafetySet—Designed as an equipment positioning system for caster-mounted units, and lets the operator return the unit to its precise position after moving it. Able to withstand 1,000 psi of crush pressure, and can be used with 4-inch, 5-inch and 6-inch casters.

Gas Regulators & Pressure Regulators

Gas and pressure regulators are perfect for equipment that have burners or pilot applications, as regulators help create precision control of smaller gas flows. Other features of the Dormont regulators include:

  • CSA design-certified
  • High-strength aluminum housings
  • Designed for multi-positional mounting

Each model of regulator offers a specific BTU capacity, so choose accordingly.

Restraining Device Kit

The restraining device kit allows you to attach the safety cable to the wall and the piece of equipment, ensuring your equipment doesn’t move too far and causing strain or disconnection from the gas hose. Additional features include:

  • Comes with restraining cable and wall mounting bracket
  • Available in 36”, 48” and 60” lengths
  • In accordance with ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54 standards

How to Choose the Right Dormont Gas Hose Product

If you know which component you need from Dormont but aren’t sure of what size or length to purchase, here are some useful tips on deciding which is best for your equipment.

How to Choose the Right Diameter Size

Select the gas connector with an inside diameter that matches with the gas inlet (stub-out) located on the back of your unit. You must also ensure that the gas connector delivers the required BTU needed to operate your equipment efficiently. If the gas connector doesn’t have the proper BTU requirements for your piece of equipment, you run the risk of “starving” your unit. This can result in your equipment heating at a slower rate and unable to reach its maximum operating temperature.

How to Choose the Right Length

Choosing the right length of hose is dependent on the space allotted for regular movement during cleaning and maintenance. This can be measured and applied to the available length options. ANSI Z21.24 permits connectors measuring up to 72” in length.
