Ecolab Bar Glass Washer Troubleshooting

Glasses Being Washed - Ecolab Bar Glass Washer Troubleshooting

A glass washer is a great ally behind a bar to keep sparkling clean glassware handy. So if issues like a lack of power or dishes not coming out clean occur, it can slow down serving customers. Or even worse, leave you with a mountain of dishes to wash by hand. A broken glass washer can be remedied with the right fixes. That’s why Parts Town is here to share some Ecolab bar glass washer troubleshooting tips.

These tips work for Ecolab glass washer units such as the Omega 5E.

Ecolab Bar Glass Washer Not Working

If the unit isn’t turning on or has no power, it most likely won’t run at all. If that is the case, consider these troubleshooting tips:

  • Unit is unplugged - Sometimes a power cord gets bumped and unplugged. Check the outlet and plug in the unit if this is the case.
  • Unit is turned off - Whether someone was just cleaning the unit and left it turned off or it was simply forgotten, the on and off switch will need to be turned on to remedy this issue.
  • Circuit breaker is tripped - A tripped circuit breaker can stop lots of equipment from running. Try resetting the breaker to get power restored.
  • Power switch isn’t wired properly - Wires can come loose, wear out over time or might be faulty from the beginning. If that’s the case with the wiring to the power switch, contact an authorized service technician to remedy it.

Ecolab Bar Glass Washer Has No Water

Water is essential to wash and rinse glasses. Without it the unit cannot properly clean dishes. If you notice a lack of water, try the following fixes:

  • Water valve is closed - For one reason or another, the water valve can be closed to ensure water won’t flow when things are taken apart. Check the line and open the valve to ensure water can flow to the unit.
  • Strainer is clogged - A strainer is responsible for ensuring large pieces of glass or other debris don’t go flowing down where it shouldn’t. However, if it spends all its time collecting and doesn’t get emptied, it can cause clogging. Try checking the strainer and cleaning it out to fix this.
  • Water flow pressure isn’t set correctly - The unit needs a water pressure flow of 20 ±5 PSI. Otherwise you won’t be getting enough water coming in. Contact an authorized service technician to have the problem fixed.
  • Water fill valve is faulty - The water fill valve plays a crucial role in getting water into the glass washer. So if it breaks or was faulty from the start, an authorized service technician will need to replace it.

Ecolab Bar Glass Washer Isn’t Cleaning Dishes

Is there power and water to the unit but dishes still won’t come out clean? There’s troubleshooting tips for that as well.

  • Heavy debris isn’t being scraped - Dishes can sometimes accumulate heavy debris that any glass washer can’t get clean on its own. Be sure to pour out leftover drinks or scrap any excessive dirt before loading it in the unit.
  • Chemical concentrations aren’t set correctly - Chemical concentrations for the detergent or rinse aids need to be set correctly based on the water conditions. If dishes are being left dirty, try adjusting the concentration settings.
  • Wash or rinse arms have clogged nozzles - As time goes on, parts get dirty. The nozzles of the wash and rinse arms are essential to dispense water and clean dishes. Be sure to keep them in the routine cleaning schedule to avoid clogs.
  • Unit isn’t filling with the correct level of water - The unit has to fill with water to a certain level. Otherwise it can overfill or underfill and leave you with clean dishes. Contact an authorized service technician if this issue is occurring.
