Keeping dishes sanitized and clean is an essential part of commercial kitchens. When you don’t know why equipment isn’t working, we can help you with some Fagor Commercial dishwasher troubleshooting tips. We will help you through some of the most common problems to ensure that dishes can be safely cleaned and sanitized, ready to plate and serve dishes 


The troubleshooting tips were made for various Fagor Commercial dishwashers like models AD-48W, AD-72W and more.

Dishwasher not filling and power light not lit

  • Breaker tripped
  • Machine not connected to power
  • Faulty circuit board
  • Reset the circuit breaker
  • Verify that the machine is plugged in and the outlet has power
  • Contact a local authorized service agent


Dishwasher not filling and power light is lit

  • No water to machine
  • Machine isn’t level
  • Overflow tube broken/detached/missing o-ring
  • Faulty door switch
  • Faulty fill pressure switch
  • Faulty rinse/fill valve
  • Check that hose isn’t kinked/blocked and water valve is open
  • Level machine with adjustable legs
  • Check tube for defects and replace as needed

Dishwasher won’t run and has completed filling and

heating cycle


  • Faulty fill pressure switch
  • Faulty power/start button
  • Faulty circuit board
  • Faulty wash pump
  • Faulty start buttons
  • Rinsing temperature gauge lower than 180ºF


  • Contact an authorized service agent
  • Contact a local authorized service agent

  • Rotate the pump from the shaft flat head slot counterclockwise to verify free rotation. Verify that the wash pump is getting power
  • Wait until sanitized rinsing temp reaches a minimum of 180ºF. Check incoming water temperature


Dishwasher runs

continuously in wash

cycle or not rinsing


  • Faulty circuit board
  • Faulty Operating t-stat
  • Faulty rinse/fill valve
  • No water to machine
  • Rinse arms are clogged or blocked


  • Contact a local authorized service agent
  • Check rinse gauge temperature. Contact a local authorized service agent for more assistance
  • Contact a local authorized service agent
  • Check hose for kinks or blockage
  • Remove and clean rinse arms/nozzles


Dishwasher fills slowly

and/or rinse is weak


  • Poor water pressure
  • Hose strainer is clogged
  • Bad rinse/fill valve
  • Temp. gauge in front panel defective


  • Check inlet water pressure is correct
  • Check strainer or any filter
  • Disconnect hose and check filter screen for debris
  • Check temp. is set correctly. Replace temp. gauge as needed


Rinse water not reaching 180°F


  • Faulty thermostat
  • Faulty high limit stat
  • Faulty heater relay
  • Faulty boiler element


  • Contact a local authorized service agent
  • Reset thermostat and replace as needed
  • Contact a local authorized service agent
  • Contact a local authorized service agent


Wash water not reaching 150°F


  • Low incoming water temp.
  • Faulty tank heater relay 
  • Faulty tank heater


  • Check incoming water temp. and pressure are correct
  • Contact a local authorized service agent
  • Contact a local authorized service agent


Dishwasher washes and rinses, doesn’t drain


  • Door is closed
  • Overflow tube not removed
  • Drain pump clogged
  • Drain hose kinked
  • Drain pump faulty
  • Safety pressure switch faulty
  • Incorrect machine pressure or temperature
  • Too little detergent


  • Open door and push drain button for 3 sec.
  • Remove front right s/s filter and remove overflow tube
  • Open drain pump cover and remove debris
  • Unkink drain hose
  • Check drain pump has voltage
  • Check pressure tube for kinks or damage and replace
  • Wait until sanitized rinsing temp reaches a minimum of 180ºF. Check incoming water temp.
  • Check detergent ratio is correct


Dishes not coming out clean


  • Improper loading or overloading
  • Washing or rinsing arm jammed or dirty
  • Clogged drain
  • Machine not level


  • Make sure dishes are loaded according to manufacturer standards
  • Check that arms rotate correctly and nozzles aren’t blocked
  • Remove obstruction from pump and/or make sure drain hose isn’t kinked and flush out debris
  • Adjust legs and level machine


Water overflowing from bottom of door


  • Excessive inlet pressure
  • Excessive foam coming out of door
  • Low water pressure or rinse aid empty
  • Air in pump and/or lines


  • Have a pressure reducing valve installed
  • Adjust amount of chemicals being dispensed
  • Check pressure and make sure rinse aid container is full
  • Make sure rinse aid lines are primed and free of kinks


Rinse agent not being

dispensed


  • Detergent tubes incorrectly placed in container/improper adjustment


  • Ensure tubes are connected and secure
