Fri-Jado Rotisserie Oven Cleaning

Fri-Jado Rotisserie Oven Cleaning

Looking to keep your Fri-Jado rotisserie oven in working condition? Proper preventative maintenance and regular cleaning can help keep appliances from malfunctioning and from parts wearing down. Below we have compiled some cleaning procedures to help you maintain your machine. Always refer to your specific model’s manual for any details on cleaning and what cleaning products to use.

Daily

Daily cleaning is an important step to maintaining your rotisserie oven and preventing future repairs. Check your specific unit’s manual for reference when cleaning.

  • Rotor & bottom plates - Remove the rotor and bottom plates from the unit. Place the parts in a sink or container with hot water and a mild cleaning agent. Allow them to soak for one night and then clean them the next day.
  • Fat collecting drawer - Make sure the grease has cooled before cleaning to prevent injury. Drain the grease drawer before any cleaning. Use hot water and a mild detergent or ‘‘Fri-Jado Clean’ to wash the inside of the drawer.
  • Interior cleaning - Wash the interior with hot water and a mild detergent or with a Fri-Jado approved cleaning agent. Dry the interior thoroughly with a soft cloth, making sure that there is no water or cleaning agent left behind in the unit.
  • Glass doors - To make it easier to clean, start by opening the glass doors. Using hot water and a cleaning agent, wipe down both sides of the glass door. Thoroughly dry the doors with a dry, soft cloth. If possible, leave the doors open to dry overnight.
  • Automatic cleaning - Some units have an automatic cleaning cycle that will clean the unit independently. This makes it easier to maintain your machine on a daily basis. Make sure to clean the door rubbers after a cleaning cycle if your unit has automatic cleaning.

Weekly

Before starting on the weekly cleaning, you will still want to have completed the daily cleaning procedures.

  • Exterior cleaning - Use warm soapy water and a clean cloth to wash the exterior of the rotisserie oven. Rinse and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth, making sure no residue is left over.

Monthly

Be sure to unplug the machine from any power outlets before starting. There should be no electricity attached to the machine before cleaning.

  • Grille & fan plate - Loosen and remove the nut caps that hold the fan grille or fan plate of your unit. Clean the parts by using warm water and an approved cleaning agent. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth and reattach the piece or pieces.
  • Fan blade - Remove the fan blade by turning the nut on the fan clockwise. Using a cloth and a grill cleaning agent, gently wash the fan blades. Dry the blades thoroughly with a dry cloth. When remounting the fan make sure that the flat in the fan blade hole is located over the fan axle.

Non Stick Surfaces

Some Fri-Jado rotisserie ovens may have non-stick surfaces that will need extra precaution when cleaning. You should never use harsh abrasive tools on the surface like knives, forks, scrapers, steel wool, scouring pads and more. Always use an approved cleaning agent on the surface and no oven cleaner.

  • Cool first - Allow any surfaces to cool before starting. Trying to clean while it is still hot or warm could damage the coating or give injury.
  • Wash off grease and food residue - Using a mild dish soap and warm water, wash the non-stick surfaces clean. Wipe off any grease or food residue and then rinse with clean water. Allow the surface to dry before moving on.
  • Wipe with oil - Condition the surface by wiping it with a light vegetable oil. Do not use any vegetable oil cooking spray.
