Frigidaire Dishwasher Troubleshooting Codes

Woman Thinking By Dishwasher - Frigidaire Dishwasher Troubleshooting Codes

You may notice your dishwasher is displaying different codes. These codes typically mean something could be wrong and needs to be remedied. Thankfully they’re easy to read with a guide like this to walk you through what the different troubleshooting codes mean.

This guide applies to a variety of Frigidaire dishwasher models such as the Gallery series and the Professional series.

Frigidaire Dishwasher Troubleshooting Codes

  • Error Code PF - This code displays due to power failure. This can be resolved by consulting with an authorized technician about whether the dishwasher has proper voltage to operate.
  • Error Code HO - This appears when the temperature is too low or if the unit is taking too long to heat up. You can potentially flush out the cold water by running hot water in your sink but to truly fix this you will need to consult an authorized technician for your water heating system.
  • Error Code LO - Your rinse aid dispenser is empty or low. This can easily be solved by just filling it.
  • Error Code CL - The unit is detecting that the door is not latched shut. Be sure to completely shut the door until you hear the latch click.
  • Error Code rA - This is from a rinse aid switch failure. To fix this you can first try filling the rinse aid dispenser but if it continues you’ll need to contact an authorized technician to fix it.
  • Error Code RE or RF - These two codes involve the rinse aid reed switch within the dispenser. The RE stands for when it’s closed and RF for when it’s opened. This can potentially be fixed by refilling the dispenser or you may need a technician to replace the dispenser assembly.
  • Error Code UO - When you see this code it means the main control board is signaling that the vent assembly’s vent plunger is open. This could be due to an issue with the wiring and will need a technician to fix it.
  • Error Code ER - This can come from a touchpad key being stuck or being pressed longer than a minute. It’ll lead to a membrane switch failure which can be fixed by having a technician replace it.
  • Error Code CE - The code is a result of a configuration error. You will have to have an authorized technician repair this.
  • Error Code tu - A failure in the turbidity sensor was detected by the main control board. The sensor may need to be replaced by an authorized technician.
  • Error Code UF - The control board is sensing the vent fan motor isn’t going at the correct speed during the drying cycle. This may mean the motor or the control board need to be replaced by an authorized technician.
  • Error Code hs - This code means there’s a hall sensor error. Consult a technician to remedy this issue.
  • Relay Test Error Codes - Error codes such as dP, FL, rt, Sd and UL appear during relay tests to let you know the test has begun, a component has been activated during the test or that the UL test has been activated. These codes won’t require a fix.

Frigidaire Dishwasher Troubleshooting i Codes

These codes are still error codes but all start with the letter i.

  • Error Code i50 - It’s possible a fault has been detected with the wash motor or the drain. Resetting the dishwasher can potentially fix this.
  • Error Code i20, i40 or iF0 - Any of these codes will let you know when the drain line is restricted or the filters are clogged. Cleaning these is the best way to resolve this. Consult the cleaning and care section of your units manual for specific instructions.
  • Error Code i30 - This code displays when the dishwasher is leaking into the base. The section of this guide on when a Frigidaire dishwasher is leaking will help you resolve this problem.
  • Error Code i60 - This means there’s an error with your water heating system. Consult an authorized technician to have this fixed.
  • Error Code iC0 - Getting this code means there’s an issue with the unit’s electronic control system. You can try turning off the power supply to the dishwasher for 5 minutes to clear it or you may need an authorized technician to remedy this.
  • Error Code i10 - This appears when the water level is too low which is usually a result from an issue with the water supply to the dishwasher. You can first check if the water line is kinked or blocked. Be sure to also check the faucet that controls the water supply hasn’t closed.

Frigidaire Dishwasher Diagnostic Mode

Diagnostic mode is an essential way to identify and fix the error codes mentioned above. To put your dishwasher in diagnostic mode you’ll need to do the following steps:

  1. Press the START/CANCEL button - You need to press and hold this button for 3-5 seconds.
  2. Advance settings - After golding the unit enters service mode. You can then press START/CANCEL again to advance settings into diagnostic mode.
