Since keeping these critical units in working order is essential to business operations, this Hatco panini grill troubleshooting guide will help you identify and resolve issues quickly and easily.

This information is for units from PG and MCG series, such as the PG14 and MCG10G, respectively.

Grill Isn’t Working At All

  • Unit isn’t plugged in - Plug the power cord into the outlet.
  • Machine isn’t turned on - Flip the Power switch to the (I) position to turn on PG Series units. For MCG Series models, press the Standby button to activate the machine.
  • Circuit breaker is off or tripped - Reset the circuit breaker. If issues persist, contact a licensed electrician for further assistance.
  • Temperature control is defective - Call an authorized technician to remedy the issue.

Unit Isn’t Hot Enough

  • Temperature setting is too low - Turn the temperature control knob clockwise to increase the temperature setting.
  • Machine is in standby mode (PG Series units only) - Press the Standby button to turn on the unit. When the machine is on, the button will illuminate green.
  • Heating element is defective - Reach out to a licensed technician for assistance.
  • Temperature control is defective - Schedule an appointment with an authorized technician to service the unit.
