Hobart C-Line Dishwasher Cleaning & Preventative Maintenance
Hobart C-Line dishwashers keep your plate ware, glassware and cooking utensils sparkling clean and sanitized. But to make sure your unit cleans all your wares properly, your dishwasher itself needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Regularly cleaning your Hobart dishwasher helps your unit perform as it should, so it’s a crucial step to your end-of-day routine. Take a look at the cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks below to keep your Hobart warewasher in top form.
This guide is for all C-Line Dishwasher models.
How to Clean a Hobart C-Line Dishwasher
Be sure to clean your warewasher at the end of each shift or twice daily.
- Step 1. Turn both the motor and power switches off.
- Step 2. Open the dishwasher door(s). The standard door interlock switches prevent machine operation when the inspection door(s) open.
- Step 3. Check both the upper and lower final rinse nozzles for lime and buildup.
- Step 4. Pull the drain lever(s) up to open them.
- Step 5. Remove the wash arms (see instructions below) and flush thoroughly in a sink. Replace the wash arm end caps when done.
- Step 6. Remove any scraps from the machine walls.
- Step 7. Clean the dish tables in the dishwasher.
- Step 8. Remove strainer pans and strainer basket(s), and empty them into a garbage can or disposer. Clean baskets and strainers.
- Step 9. Clean the pump intake strainer.
- Step 10. If applicable to your unit, remove both of the flowback strainer pans and clean.
- Applicable for models C54A, CRS76A, CCS76A and CPW90A.
- Step 11. Remove the curtains and thoroughly scrub and rinse. Set them aside to let them fully dry overnight.
- Step 12. Wash the interior of the machine with a spray hose, and wipe down with a cleaning cloth and a mild detergent to remove any residual debris. Rinse again afterwards.
- Step 14. Reinstall all strainer pans, baskets and pump intake strainer.
- Step 15. Reinstall the upper wash arms.
- Step 16. Reinstall the lower wash arm.
- Step 17. Leave the door(s) open overnight to air dry.
Other Hobart C-Line Preventative Maintenance Tasks
To make sure your Hobart C-Line warewasher continues to perform as it should, be sure to the following tasks:
- Replace the curtain every 6-12 months
- Replace the wash arms every 6-12 months - See steps below:
- Step 1. Remove old wash arms. Remove wash arm end caps and push any nozzle obstructions into the wash arms.
- Step 2. Install new upper wash arms. Rest the manifold on the rear hanger bracket with the open end of the arm next to the wash pipe and rotate the arm upward to latch it.
- Step 3. Insert the new lower wash arm at an angle between the conveyor and install the retainer over the pin. Rotate the arm toward the catch and engage the hook into the notch
- Check the vent every 6 months to clear obstructions
