How Do I Operate a Vollrath Slicer?

Whether someone likes thick-cut or thinly-sliced deli meats and cheeses, getting the right thickness can be a simple process. Below we will answer the question ‘How Do I Operate a Vollrath Slicer?’ in a few easy steps. That way you can focus on slicing up thick cuts of meat or thinly-sliced cheeses for everyone to enjoy. 

The following guide is made for the Vollrath heavy-duty electric slicers like the 40952, 40954 and 40955 models. 

How to Operate a Vollrath Slicer

  • Step 1 - Slide the carriage tray to the load/start position (the position closest to the operator).
  • Step 2 - Lift the product grip and place the food onto the carriage tray and in contact with the gauge plate.
  • Step 3 - Place the product grip either on top or behind the food to be sliced.
  • Step 4 - Use the index control knob to set the desired slice thickness.
  • Step 5 - Press and release the On button.
  • Step 6 - Use the carriage handle to push the carriage tray back and forth to slice the food. Slice until you have the amount desired. 
  • Step 8 - Turn the index control to the zero (0) position so the gauge plate protects the blade edge.
  • Step 9 - Press and release the Off button.
