Black faucet with running water - How Everpure PFAS water filtration fights contamination

Everpure takes water filtration seriously. They provide high-quality systems to ensure that your water is safe to drink and use in your everyday tasks. Take a closer look into PFAS and Everpure PFAS water filtration to see how one of these options may be right for you.

What is PFAS?

PFAS, or Forever Chemicals, are manufactured chemicals that have been used in industry and consumer products and can be found in the air, soil and water. They have been linked to harmful health effects in humans and animals who have been exposed.

Different Types of PFAS & How Contamination Occurs

Most people in the U.S. have been exposed to some sort of PFAS. Listed below are the common places these chemicals can be present:

  • Drinking water
  • Waste sites
  • Facilities with electronics, paper production and chrome plating
  • Consumer products such as non-stick products, paints, personal care items and more
  • Food packaging like candy wrappers and grease-resistant paper
  • Biosolids such as fertilizers
  • Food sources including dairy from exposed livestock or fish in contaminated waters

Health Effects of Exposure

People can come into contact with PFAS chemicals by eating, drinking, bathing, washing dishes or even breathing in materials. So what happens when people are exposed? Here are just a few of the health effects that exposure may causes:

  • Increased risk of cancers
  • Increased cholesterol levels
  • Decreased immunity
  • Developmental defects
  • Decreased fertility

What Can Be Implemented to Combat PFAS Contamination in Water?

While you can always contact your water utility company to find out what they’re doing to stop PFAS from contaminating the water, there are other preventative solutions. One of the best ones is to install a water filtration system such as the Everpure PFAS water filtration system. These filters are able to reduce the amount of PFAS chemicals, lead, microplastics and more for fresher and safer-to-drink water.
