How to Make Coffee in a Bunn Coffee Maker
Bunn coffee makers are a staple in any office, convenience store, restaurant and other commercial spaces. They can quickly brew pot after pot of fresh, hot coffee so everyone can enjoy a cup. Whether it’s the first morning brew or an afternoon refresh, knowing how to make coffee in your Bunn coffee maker will help keep the day—and everyone else—going. The following will cover Bunn models such as the Axiom series, VPR or VPS series and the CDBC or CDBF series.
Axiom Series Brewers
- Step 1—Ensure that the brew funnel is clean and empty before starting a brew cycle
- Step 2—Place a Bunn filter into the brew funnel.
- Step 3—Pour fresh coffee grounds into the filter, and gently shake to level.
- Step 4—Insert the funnel into the funnel rails until it stops.
- Step 5—Place a clean, empty carafe under the funnel.
- Step 6—Check to make sure the “ENABLE BREW ON/OFF” indicator is on, then quickly press and release the “BREW” switch. The display will now read “NOW BREWING” along with the remaining brew time.
- Step 7—Once brewing has finished, the display will then show “DRIPPING” along with the remaining time for the coffee to finish dripping from the funnel tip.
- Step 8—When the coffee has finished dripping, carefully remove the brew funnel and throw away the grounds and filter.
VPR & VPS Series Brewers
- Step 1— Plug in the unit and allow it to heat up.
- Step 2—Place a Bunn filter into the brew funnel.
- Step 3—Pour fresh coffee grounds into the filter, and gently shake to level.
- Note: Consult the manual for how much coffee to add.
- Step 4—Insert the funnel into the funnel rails until it stops.
- Step 5—Add water to the tank and place a clean, empty carafe under the funnel.
- Step 6—Turn on the bottom brew and top heaters.
- Note: Turn off the warming heater if it remains unused for a long period of time.
- Step 7—Once brewing is completed, the carafe can be moved to another active heater so additional pots can be brewed.
CDBC & CDBF Series Brewers
- Step 1—Place a Bunn filter into the brew funnel.
- Step 2—Pour fresh coffee grounds into the filter, and gently shake to level.
- Step 3—Insert the funnel into the funnel rails until it stops.
- Step 4—Place a clean, empty carafe under the funnel.
- Step 5—Press the ON/OFF switch, then quickly press and release the “BREW” switch.
- Step 6—Once brewing has finished, carefully remove the brew funnel and throw away the grounds and filter.
