How Do You Program a Sanremo Espresso Machine?
The sophisticated Sanremo espresso machine allows you to pour the perfect espresso shots, and concoct delicious drinks for customers. Not only that, but you can program your Sanremo unit to make the perfect cup every time. This helps streamline the process and allow you to deliver to your customers faster. This guide is applicable for the F18 and F18 SB models.
Sanremo F18 Programming Instructions
Programming Coffee Doses
- Step 1—Turn on the espresso machine unit.
- Step 2—Insert the filter holder with coffee into the left side of the espresso machine per operation instructions.
- Step 3—Place a cup or two under the dispenser.
- Step 4—Press and hold the (E) button for at least 5 seconds until it starts flashing. A message will appear that reads: “PROGRAMMING PRESS THE BUTTON IN 30 sec.”
- Step 5—Once the (E) button starts to flash, immediately press the dispensing button you would like to program. The button that’s been selected will stay illuminated while coffee is dispensing.
- Step 6—Once the desired level of coffee has been dispensed, press the same button again to stop dispensing. This will save the dispensing amount as a program that can be accessed later. The button’s light will then turn off to indicate that the program has been saved.
- Step 7—If you need to adjust the programming, or program additional doses, repeat Steps 1-6. The dose programming stage will quit after 30 seconds of inactivity.
Programming Water Doses
- Step 1—Enter the programming stage as described in Steps 3-4 in the “Programming Coffee Doses” section.
- Step 2—When the (E) button begins to flash, press the button again to begin dispensing hot water.
- Step 3—When the desired quantity is reached, press the (E) button to stop dispensing. The program will then be saved. The dose programming stage will quit after 30 seconds of inactivity.

Programming Continuous Dose
A continuous dose can be programmed the same way as described above. While programming, the LED of the continuous button will be lit. If Purge is enabled, press the (E) button twice to start programming.
Programming Hot Water Dose
You have the capability to program two different hot water doses on your Sanremo espresso machine.
- Programming Hot Water Dose 1—Press and hold the (E) button until it begins to flash. Then, press button (4) (tea dose) once to store the hot water dose 1. Once the desired quantity has been reached, press the 4 button again to stop dispensing.
- Programming Hot Water Dose 2—Press and hold the (E) button until it begins to flash. Then, press button (4) (tea dose) twice to store the hot water dose 1. Once the desired quantity has been reached, press the 4 button again to stop dispensing.
Programming Autosteamer Steam Temperature
Both the milk frothing (button 1) and drink heating (button 2) can be programmed independently with two different temperatures. By default, these functions are set to 60°C / 140°F.
Before you begin to program, prepare the milk jug or drink you wish to heat under the wand. You may insert a thermometer into the milk if you want to measure the product’s current temperature.
- Step 1a—Enter the programming mode by pressing and holding the (1) button for 5 seconds. The display screen will read “PROG. MILK FROTHING 005.”
- Step 1b—To program milk heating, press and hold the (2) button for 5 seconds. The display screen will read “PROG. MILK HEATING 005.”
- Step 2—When the desired temperature setting has been reached, press the (1) or (2) button again, depending on what program you’re setting. The new temperature will now be stored.
