Guide
Delfield logo

Steam tables from Delfield are known for being reliable and easy to use, keeping delicious foods properly warmed. Learning how to use a Delfield steam table can help you avoid issues with the unit or product. Use our guide for the proper instructions on how to use your equipment.

This guide is made specifically for the Delfield F14EI Series steam tables.

Before the First Use

Before turning on the unit for the first time, be sure to turn the temperature knob to “High” and heat the well for 20 to 30 minutes. Any dust or residue on the heater elements will burn off during this time. Here are a few notes to keep in mind when using the Delfield steam table:

  • Never place food directly into the well. Always use pans.
  • While these units can be used without water, it’s highly recommended that water be used to provide a more consistent temperature.
  • Always place covers on the pans when the product is not being served to keep the food from drying out.
  • Don’t put food down the drain.

Wet Operation Instructions

Follow these instructions when using the steam table with water:

  • Fill the food well with 2 inches of water.
  • Turn the control knob to “High” and preheat the warmer for 30 minutes.
  • Once preheated, set the controls to your desired serving temperature.
  • After usage, shut the unit off and let it cool down.
  • Once cool, drain the water from the well and wipe dry.

Dry Operation Instructions

Follow these instructions when using the steam table without water:

  • Preheat the well on “High” for about 15 minutes.
  • Once preheated, set the controls to the desired serving temperature.

Note: When using the steam table without water, only use the 6 inch deep insets.
