How to Use a French Fry Cutter

Cutting a Potato - How to Use a French Fry Cutter

Getting the perfect shape fries by hand is exhausting work. Slicing potatoes one by one can take too much time, but thankfully, there’s a better way. A french fry cutter can help speed up the process of cutting up the perfect fries. You can produce delicious side dishes way faster when using one instead of cutting by hand. However, they need to be used properly to prevent damages or, worse, accidents. That’s why Parts Town is here to teach you how to use a french fry cutter so you can stay safe while cutting perfectly shaped fries.

French Fry Cutter Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes: Peeling the potato is technically optional. It depends if you like having some of that skin on them or not. As for cutting, you want to slice the ends off so the potato rests flush with the cutter.
  2. Load the potato: Next you want to load the potato into the cutter. Be sure the cut, flat bottom is flush with the pressing plate and the cutter.
  3. Pull the handle: Once your potato is all cut and loaded, you’re ready to slice. Whether your unit has a pull or push handle, now is the time to use it.
    1. Note. Keep hands and fingers away from the blade when cutting to avoid accidents.
  4. Collect the fries: Gather the neatly cut fries and place them out of the way so you can load in your next potato.
  5. Repeat: From here out, you’ll want to repeat steps 1-4 for all of the potatoes you need sliced.
