How to Use a Winco Food Warmer
A Winco food warmer is a valuable asset in any commercial kitchen. Whether you’re in a cafeteria, a banquet hall, a QSR or another foodservice business, these warmers are excellent for keeping your freshly-prepped product hot and ready. They’re also simple to use, so anyone that’s on your staff can get your dishes ready to serve. Learn how to use your Winco food warmer with the step-by-step guide below.
This guide is applicable for the FW-S500 and FW-S600 models.
Operation Instructions
- Step 1—Place the warmer unit onto a stable, flat surface.
- Step 2—Pour 1 to 1½ inches of water into the well pan. Do not exceed the amount of water.
- NOTE—Do not operate the warmer without any water in the pan.Step 1—Plug in the unit.
- Step 3—Preheat the water in the well pan. You can cover the pan with an empty food pan or pan cover to preheat the water faster.
- Step 4—Place high-heat or stainless steel inset pans into the unit well pan.
- Step 5—Place food product into the inset pan.
- Step 5a—If you’ll be using the unit as a food warmer, make sure the food product is thoroughly cooked. Then set the temperature to the desired setting.
- Step 5b—If you’ll be using the unit as a slow cooker (FW-S600 model only), place the frozen food item into the inset pan and allow the product to reach temperature. This should take around 40 minutes on the maximum heat setting. Be sure to follow all preparation instructions for the food product.
- Step 6—Regularly monitor the temperature of the food product in the inset pan, stirring occasionally. Also check the water level in the well pan periodically, and add more as needed.
