Master-Bilt Freezer Door Adjustment
Master-Bilt freezer doors provide an airtight seal that keeps temperatures constant while also giving users easy access to the unit interior. Although these doors are built to last, sometimes they can lose tension or start sagging, causing them to pop open or not square the frame. To ensure your unit stays closed firmly, this Master-Bilt freezer door adjustment guide explains how to correct the torque and alignment quickly and easily.
This guide is for glass door freezer merchandisers that use glass doors with TorqueMaster hinge systems, such as the BLG-48-HGP.

Instructions
- Step 1. Locate the TorqueMaster - Look for the TorqueMaster mechanism at the bottom of the hinge side of the door.
- Step 2. Identify the inside and outside screws - Note the location of the outside screw for adjusting the torque and the inside screw for changing the sag.
- Step 3. Adjust the door tension - Use a screwdriver to turn the outside screw counterclockwise to increase the tension. As the tension increases, the door should begin to close on its own. Once the door reaches the closed position, turn the screw one more full rotation.
- Step 4. Check the setting - Pull the door open about 6 inches (15.24CM) and then let go; if the door falls back into place, it’s set correctly.
- Step 5. Modify the tension setting (if necessary) - If the door seems hard to open or makes unusual noises, it may be over-tensioned. To decrease the tension, turn the outside screw until the desired level of torque is reached.
- Step 6. Adjust the sag - Insert the screwdriver into the inner screw and then turn the screw clockwise to lower or counterclockwise to raise the handle side of the door.
- Step 7. Check the alignment - Make sure the door fits perfectly in the frame when closed, leaving no gaps on the top, bottom or sides.
- Step 8. Correct the sag (if necessary) - If the door sits too high or too low, modify the alignment by turning the inside screw as needed.
