Supplies
- Warm Water
- Mild Detergent
- Cleaning Cloths
- Soft-Bristled Brush
- Wooden Scraper or Plastic Scraper
- Stainless Steel Cleaner
- Oven Cleaner
- Glass Cleaner
- Protective Gloves
- Small Screwdriver
- Large Sink (for cleaning the seals)
Avoid using abrasive scouring pads or harsh chemicals as these might damage the unit’s surfaces. The oven isn’t waterproof, so don’t use high-pressured water jet sprays to clean the oven. When cleaning stainless steel surfaces, remember to rub in the direction of the grain.
Pre-Cleaning Procedure
Be sure to wait for the unit to cool down before cleaning: this will not only reduce burn risks but also prevent warping caused by water coming into contact with hot surfaces.
- Step 1. Cool down the oven - Before beginning the cleaning procedure, lower the internal temperature of the unit to about 120˚F (50˚C). If necessary, refer to your user’s manual for more specific instructions.
- Step 2. Turn off the unit - Once the oven reaches the desired temperature, use the power button to turn off the unit.
- Step 3. Unplug the unit - In order to avoid electrical hazards, disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
Daily Cleaning
Take special care to avoid using harsh chemicals and abrasive pads when cleaning the trays.
- Step 1. Clean the control panel with warm water only - Use warm water and a clean cloth (no detergent) to remove residues and particles from the control panel. The control panel is delicate, so be gentle and don’t apply pressure to the display screen.
- Step 2. Take out the oven trays and racks - Once the oven interior has cooled down, remove the trays and racks. If necessary, refer to the owner’s manual for directions on how to take the racks out of the oven.
- Step 3. Wash the oven interior and exterior - Clean the interior and exterior surfaces with warm water, mild detergent and a soft cloth; if necessary, use a soft-bristled brush for stubborn deposits and a wooden or plastic scraper for carbon deposits.
- Step 4. Clean the trays and racks - Wash the trays and racks with warm water, mild detergent and a soft cloth. If needed, use a soft-bristled brush to remove thick deposits.
- Step 5. Rinse the unit and parts - Wipe away any food residues, dirt particles and soap suds on the control panel, interior/exterior surfaces, trays and racks with a damp cloth.
- Step 6. Dry the unit and parts - Use a soft cloth to dry the control panel, interior/exterior surfaces, trays and racks.
- Step 7. Reinstall the trays and racks - Return the trays and racks to the unit. For more specific directions, check your owner’s manual.
Weekly Cleaning
If the oven is used frequently, the weekly cleaning procedure should be carried out more frequently than just once per week.
- Step 1. Clean the exterior - Wash away any food residues and dirt particles with warm water, mild detergent and a clean cloth or soft-bristled brush. Baked-on deposits and areas of discoloration may require the use of stainless steel cleaner.
- Step 2. Remove the interior parts - Take out the fan baffle, side racks, trays, lamp glass and door seals. Use a screwdriver to loosen the fan baffle screws. If the door seals are damaged, discard them. For more specific instructions, see your operator’s manual.
- Step 3. Wash the interior surfaces - Clean the interior chamber with warm water, mild detergent and a soft cloth or brush. Be careful to not damage the fan or tube on the right that controls the thermostat.
- Step 4. Clean the interior parts - Wash the fan baffle, side racks, trays, lamp glass and door seals with warm water, mild detergent and a soft cloth or brush. Given the size of the door seals, it may be easiest to wash them in a large sink.
- Step 5. Clean the outer and inner glass - Use oven glass cleaner and a cloth to clean the outer glass. Then, use a screwdriver to release the outer glass in order to clean the inner surfaces, too. Dry the inner and outer glass with a soft cloth after cleaning.
- Step 6. Rinse the interior chamber and disassembled parts - Wipe away any remaining residues, particles or suds on the interior surfaces or disassembled parts.
- Step 7. Dry the interior surfaces and detached parts - Use a clean, soft cloth to dry the interior chamber and removed parts.
- Step 8. Reinstall the disassembled parts - Return the fan baffle, side racks, trays, lamp glass and door seals to the oven. If the old door seals were damaged, replace them with new ones. Check the manual for more information on reinstalling parts.
Monthly Cleaning
In addition to regular cleaning, it’s recommended that an authorized technician adjust the controls and mechanical parts once every 6 months to ensure optimal performance.
- Step 1. Check the door seals for damage - Inspect the door seals for wear; if necessary, discard them and install new seals.
- Step 2. Clean the interior chamber with oven cleaner - Begin the normal weekly cleaning procedure. Once all of the internal parts are removed, clean the interior chamber with oven cleaner according to the manufacturer’s directions.
Resuming Normal Operation
- Step 1. Plug in the unit - Restore power to the unit by plugging the power cord into an electrical outlet.
- Step 2. Turn the unit on - Use the power button to turn on the oven.
- Step 3. Use the oven normally - Once the power is restored and the oven is on, begin using the unit normally.
