Pitco Pasta Cooker Troubleshooting

If your pasta cooker is causing you problems, it can halt cooking and ruin productivity. We can help you with your Pitco pasta cooker troubleshooting and get it back up and running in no time. Below we will go over some of the major troubleshooting problems and how to resolve them.

Controller Not Activated

  • No power - Make sure that the power cord is plugged into an outlet and that the building has power.
  • Circuit breaker tripped - If a fuse was blown or the circuit breaker was tripped, try to flip the circuit breaker and reset the cooker. 
  • I/0 button not pressed - Press the I/0 button to turn the controller on.
  • Power cord loose - Check that the power cord isn’t loose and is firmly plugged in.

Controller Displays Heating, Water Not Heated

  • High temperature limit tripped - Wait for the appliance to cool and then reset the high temperature limit.

Low water temperature

Wait for unit to heat up and reach the set point temperature


Temperature probe circuit open

Contact an authorized service agent


  • Shortened temperature probe
  • High temperature alarm

  • Wait for unit to cool down, then fill water level and restart


  • High temperature limit switch open
  • Low water level sensor open
  • Contact an authorized service agent
  • Wait for unit to cool down, then fill water level and restart

Appliance is on and drain valve open

Turn off appliance and close drain valve. Allow appliance to cool before filling and restarting
