Burners Are Not Lit/Display is Black
- Power connection - Make sure that the broiler is plugged in and that the outlet it is connected to has power.
- Circuit breaker - Locate the circuit breaker on the wall and that it’s ON. Make sure it hasn’t been tripped.
Burners Are Not Lit/ Display On
- Ventilation hood - Check that the ventilation hood is ON and in the correct position. If it’s not ON or positioned properly, it can cause multiple issues, including the burners not working.
- Gas line - The gas line needs to be correctly installed and connected for the broiler to function. Check the connection and also ensure that the gas line is set to ON.
- Bottom burner - Look at the position of the bottom burner and make sure it’s pushed all the way in. The handle shouldn’t protrude past the side cover. Also check that it’s thoroughly clean and dry or the unit won't function properly.
- Flame sensor/Valve issue - If none of the above problems and solutions were able to resolve the issue, this could be a problem with the flame sensor or a valve. This will require you to contact a local authorized service agent to further investigate the issue.
Food is Failing to Discharge
- Rear scraper is dirty - Look at the rear scraper and make sure that it’s installed correctly. Also be sure to give it a thorough cleaning to prevent any malfunctioning.
- Heat shield - If the heat shield isn’t properly installed, then food will fail to discharge. Check this component in your unit to ensure the heat shield isn’t causing the issue.
- Burger slide - Check the burger slide to make sure it’s properly cleaned. If there is excessive grime or grease on the slide, it will prevent food from discharging.
Auto Feeder Not Turning
- Correct Installation - Ensure that the auto feeder was correctly installed and that the clutch knob is pushed inward. If you suspect that it’s not working properly, you’ll need to contact a local authorized service agent to come out and check the components.
- Circuit breaker - Check that the broiler’s circuit breaker hasn’t been tripped. You can access the breaker behind the right tower of the broiler.
Food is Undercooked or Overcooked
- Cook time is off - Check the cook time and either increase it for undercooked food or decrease the time for overcooked food. Changing the cook time will increase or decrease the temperature.
- Excess ventilation - Make sure there aren’t any excess exhaust or air vents blowing on the broiler while it cooks. This can change the outcome of the food.
Excessive Flaming in Broiler
- Preventative cleaning - Grease build-up can cause excessive flaming. Check the grease tray and give it a thorough cleaning to clear out the excess grease.
- Check catalyst - Make sure that the catalyst is properly maintained and clean it if your unit has one. A dirty catalyst can cause multiple issues, including excessive flaming.
- Improper installation - If your broiler unit has removable parts, be sure that all of them are correctly installed. Improperly installed or missing parts will cause malfunctions and could damage your broiler.
Too Much Smoke
- Check ventilation - Look at the ventilation hood and ensure that it’s ON and functioning. Also make sure that the broiler is positioned properly under the hood. If the broiler isn’t situated correctly under the ventilation, it can cause excess smoke during the cooking process.
- Check catalyst - If your appliance has a catalyst attached, check the condition of the catalyst. A worn out or broken catalyst could be causing excess smoke and will need to be replaced.
