Revent Oven Troubleshooting

Service technician fixing a commercial oven - Revent oven troubleshooting

If your Revent oven is not heating, turning on, cooking properly, leaking water or generally not working, there’s no need to sound the alarm. A lot of oven-related inconveniences can be resolved with a flip of a circuit breaker switch or a twist of a lightbulb.

Figure out whether it's a simple fix you can do yourself or you need to call in more experienced help in our complete Revent oven troubleshooting guide for popular models like 626, 726 and more.

Revent Oven Not Heating or Turning On

If your oven is not heating or turning on, try going through this list of Revent oven troubleshooting tips:

  • Main switch is off – The first and easiest thing you can check is that the main power switch is flipped on.
  • Blown fuse – Sometimes, random power grid surges, short circuits, overloaded circuits and faulty electrical components can cause the fuse to blow, severing the electrical connection between it and more vital pieces of machinery.
  • Power is out – Acts of nature are an inconvenience at the best of times. At the worst of times, it can cause your Revent oven to stop working. Call your service provider to see when they can get the power turned back on.
  • Thermostat is faulty or not set correctly – Another reason the oven may not be heating to the desired temperature is it’s not receiving the electrical signals to do so. Rotate the thermostat dial clockwise to increase the oven’s temperature. The red pilot light should light up. If it hasn’t, this could indicate that the heat contactors or elements are faulty and are in need of replacement.
  • Burnt lightbulb – It may not appear that your Revent oven is working properly if the lights aren’t on. Luckily, it has a fairly simple replacement procedure. Just unscrew the glass cover and light bulb and pop in a new 40W, E14 one, taking care that it’s heat resistant up to 572℉ (300℃).

Revent Oven Slow to Heat Up or Cooks Unevenly

  • Thermostat is faulty or not set correctly – Another reason the oven may not be heating to the desired temperature is it’s not receiving the electrical signals to do so. Rotate the thermostat dial clockwise to increase the oven’s temperature. The red pilot light should light up. If it hasn’t, this could indicate that the heat contactors or elements are faulty and are in need of replacement.
  • Tripped temperature limit control – If the temperature limit has tripped, no big deal. Reset it, and you’ll be good to go to cook up a storm.
  • Faulty heat contactor – If there’s a problem with the heat contactor, it will need to be replaced.
  • Faulty electric heaters – Like the heat contactor, if there’s a problem with one or more of the electric heaters, they will need to be replaced.
  • Improperly set heat regulation switches – A heat regulation switch that’s set too low can cause your Revent oven to be slow to heat or heat unevenly. Increase the settings to resolve the issue.
  • Phases don’t have power – There are 3 phases in your Revent oven, all of which will need a supply of power for the oven to be operational.
  • Blown fuse –  Random power grid surges, short circuits, overloaded circuits and faulty electrical components can cause the fuse to blow. One or more blown fuses can cause uneven heat distribution in your oven.

Revent Oven Not Steaming Properly

Revent recommends you install a filter in front of the solenoid valve if the water quality is questionable. Not only does this keep your food safe to eat, but also your oven functional and producing steam.

  • Valves or filters are not open – If the valves or filters are not in the open position, steam will have a hard time filling your oven’s cavity.
  • Clogged sprinkler tube – Like other components that come in contact with water, mineral deposits, scale buildup, food particles and other dirt and debris can clog your sprinkler tube if it’s not properly maintained.
  • Faulty or dirty solenoid valve – The solenoid valve can become backed up by mineral deposits or dirt. For this reason, it will most likely need to be cleaned or replaced entirely.
  • Low water pressure – Another reason your Revent oven is not working could be that the water pressure is too low to generate steam. If this is the case, you’ll need to install a booster pump. The manufacturer recommends the Stuart Turner RG 50 with a minimum capacity of 15 l/min.

Revent Oven Leaking Water

You might expect a puddle of water next to a sink or refrigerator, but believe it or not, it’s also not uncommon to find your Revent oven leaking water.  Find out what you can do to mop up this Revent oven troubleshooting mishap:

  • Dirty or clogged water outlet pipe – If you’re in constant need of the wet floor sign, it might be that your water outlet pipe is clogged or in need of cleaning. It’s not uncommon for pipes to experience natural limescale buildup.
  • Dirty or clogged solenoid valve – Like the water outlet pipe, the solenoid valve can also become backed up by mineral deposits or dirt. For this reason, it will most likely need to be cleaned or replaced entirely.

Revent Oven Door Falls Open

If you’re having trouble with the door slamming open whenever you want to retrieve a loaf of bread, it’s a fair warning that the door spring has run its course.

To replace the spring, unscrew the right panel along with the spring cover to gain access to the faulty one. After that, just pop in the new one, reinstall the right panel and spring cover, and it should be easy lifting from here on out.
