Robot Coupe MP 450 Turbo Troubleshooting

Robot Coupe MP 450 Turbo Troubleshooting

When it comes to prepping food, a powerful immersion mixer can do it all. The Robot Coupe MP 450 Turbo mixer is capable of doing a wide variety of tasks, whether it's mashing potatoes or whisking eggs. While this immersion mixer is durable for daily use in any commercial kitchen, some minor issues can pop up over time. But have no fear! We have a list of Robot Coupe MP 450 Turbo troubleshooting tips to quickly diagnose the problem.

Mixer Won't Start

Whenever the mixer doesn't start, check for the following issues:

  • Improper operation – Before checking for other potential problems, look in your owner's manual to see if you're operating the mixer properly.
  • Too hot – When the machine is overheated, it sometimes won't start. Give the mixer a few minutes to cool down and try again.
  • Bad power outlet – The outlet you're using might not have power supply. Unplug the mixer, and try a new outlet.
  • Tripped circuit – A tripped circuit could prevent the mixer from starting. Check the ground fault interrupt (GFI) trip indicator on the outlet and the circuit breaker. Reset if tripped.

Mixer Stops During Operation

If the machine stops mixing, release the control button, unplug it and look for the possible problems below:

  • Overload protection activated – The mixer has an overload protection that stops the machine. Shut the machine off, and let it cool for up to 30 minutes. Once it cools down, restart using the operating instructions found in the owner's manual.
  • Blades won't rotate – See if the blades can rotate properly in the bell. Wear a pair of cutting glove, and remove any obstruction safely from the area. Again, make sure the machine is off and unplugged during this process.
  • Drive shaft won't rotate – With the machine off and unplugged, detach the bell and manual test if the end of the drive shaft rotates freely.
  • Damaged plug or cord – Check if there is any damage on the plug or power cord.

Mixer Smells Hot or Starts to Smoke

When the machine starts to smoke or smells hot, turn the machine off and unplug immediately. There are mechanical issues that will need to be resolved by an authorized service technician.

Mixer Trips the GFI Outlet

If the mixer trips the ground fault interrupt (GFI) outlet, this means the motor and controls are wet or broken. Do not try to operate the machine when this occurs. Contact an authorized technician to repair the issue.
