Schaerer Coffee Club Cleaning

Schaerer Coffee Club machines combine high performance with a small footprint, making them versatile additions to coffee shops, break rooms and other settings. Supplies
- Warm Water
- Cleaning Cloths
- Cleaning Brush
- Schaerer Milk System Cleaner
- Container (for sanitizing small parts)
Don’t use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners as these can damage the unit. Also, take care when handling milk system cleaner as it can cause serious injury if it comes into contact with the eyes. Daily Cleaning
Display
- Step 1. Activate CleanLock - Tap the “CleanLock” icon on the display to disengage the panel temporarily–this will enable cleaning.
- Step 2. Clean within 15 seconds - Use the following 15 seconds to wipe the control panel with a damp cloth.
- Step 3. Use the display normally - Resume normal use of the display once the 15-second period has passed.
Grounds Container
- Step 1. Pull out the grounds container - Slide the bin out of the unit.
- Step 2. Empty the container - Pour the grounds into the trash.
- Step 3. Clean the bin - Wash out the grounds container with warm water, then dry with a soft cloth.
- Step 4. Reinstall the bin - Return the container to the unit.
Drip Tray
- Step 1. Remove the drip tray - Detach the drip tray from the machine by lifting it up and out from its fixed position.
- Step 2. Clean the drip grid - Pull the drip grid off the tray and then use the cleaning brush to scrub off any residues.
- Step 3. Clean the SteamJet outlet - Maintain the SteamJet outlet and then cover it with the cleaning brush.
- Step 4. Rinse the tray and grid - Wash away any remaining residues on the drip tray and drip grid with warm water.
- Step 5. Dry the tray and grid - Wipe up excess moisture on the tray and grid with a dry cloth.
- Step 6. Return the detached parts to the unit - Reinstall the drip tray and grid in the unit.
Housing
- Step 1. Turn off the machine - Use the on/off switch to power down the unit.
- Step 2. Cool down the unit - Allow the unit to cool down for at least 10 minutes before continuing.
- Step 3. Clean the housing - Wipe away any particles or residues on the housing with a damp cloth.
- Step 4. Dry the housing - Remove excess moisture with a soft cloth.
Milk System
- Step 1. Access the outlets - Remove the front cover from the milk outlets.
- Step 2. Remove the milk foam - Wipe away milk foam residue from the nozzle area.
- Step 3. Disassemble the milk system - Take apart the milk system and set the individual pieces aside.
- Step 4. Clean the milk system parts - Wash the disassembled parts with warm water.
- Step 5. Maintain the guide and channels - Clean the guide in the outlet with a damp cloth and the channels with the cleaning brush.
- Step 6. Sanitize the small parts - Mix 5ML (0.17OZ) of Schaerer milk system cleaner with 0.5L (17OZ) of warm water. Then, place all the disassembled parts, along with the cleaning brush and milk hose, in the solution to soak for 5 hours.
- Step 7. Brush the parts - Take the disassembled parts out of the cleaning solution and brush them to remove any stubborn residues.
- Step 8. Rinse the parts - Wash any remaining solution or residues with warm water, then dry them with a soft cloth.
- Step 9. Reinstall the milk foamer - Reassemble the milk foamer and then reinstall it in the machine.
Mixer
- Step 1. Access the mixer - Open the unit’s doors and pull the mixing bowl forward with the handle.
- Step 2. Pour out any water - Lift the bowl slightly to pour out any remaining water.
- Step 3. Expose the propeller - Pull off the mixer hose and take it out of the guide in order to gain access to the propeller.
- Step 4. Clean the propeller - Wipe the propeller with a damp cloth.
- Step 5. Wash the mixing bowl parts and mixer hose - Take apart the mixing bowl, then wash the two parts and mixer hose with warm water. Remember to dry them thoroughly before returning them to the unit.
- Step 6. Reinstall the mixer - Reassemble the mixer, then insert the mixer hose into the outlet through the guide. Push the mixer back into the machine until it clicks, then attach the hose to the bowl to complete installation.
Weekly Cleaning
Collection Tray
- Step 1. Gain access to the collection tray - Remove the grounds container to expose the collection tray.
- Step 2. Remove the collection tray - Pull the collection tray out of the machine.
- Step 3. Wash the collection tray - Clean the tray with warm water, then dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
- Step 4. Reinstall the collection tray and grounds container - Return both the tray and container to the machine.
Water Tank
- Step 1. Remove the water tank - Open the service door and pull out the water tank.
- Step 2. Clean the tank - Empty and then clean the tank with a damp cloth.
- Step 3. Refill the tank - Fill the tank with water.
- Step 4. Return the tank to the machine - Reinstall the tank and then shut the door.
Regular Maintenance (As Recommended or As Needed)
Brewing Unit (Recommended Weekly)
- Step 1. Power down the unit - Use the on/off switch to turn the machine off.
- Step 2. Unplug the machine - Pull the power cord out of the outlet to minimize electrical hazards.
- Step 3. Access the brewing unit - Insert the cup grid into the ground container, then remove the grounds container, collection tray and drip tray to make the brewing unit accessible for cleaning.
- Step 4. Remove the brewing unit - Reach under the brewing unit and unlock it, then use your hand to lead it all the way down before tipping it and pulling it out the front of the machine.
- Step 5. Unlock the insertion chute - Turn the thread on the head of the brewing unit counterclockwise until the ejector is in the front. Next, pull the springs outward and then press them down to free the insertion tube.
- Step 6. Clean the brewing sieve - Fold the insertion tube upwards to gain access to the brewing sieve, then clean it with warm water and a soft cloth.
- Step 7. Maintain the brewing unit - Clean the main brewing unit by brushing away coffee ground residue, then rinsing away any remaining particles with warm water. Be sure to dry the brewing unit thoroughly before reinstalling it.
- Step 8. Wipe out the shaft - Use a brush or cloth to remove coffee grounds in the shaft before reattaching the brewing unit.
- Step 9. Reinstall the brewing unit - Put the springs back into the insertion chute and then reverse steps 1-5 to reattach the brewing unit to the machine.
Bean Hoppers (Recommended Monthly)
- Step 1. Power down the unit - Use the on/off switch to turn off the machine.
- Step 2. Unplug the machine - Minimize electrical hazards by unplugging the power cord from the outlet.
- Step 3. Clean the bean hopper - Take off the bean hopper, empty its contents, clean the container with a damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly.
- Step 4. Brush the lock elements - Clean the lock elements in the hopper with the supplied brushes.
- Step 5. Refill the hopper - Fill the hopper with beans and put on the lid.
Powder Container (Recommended Monthly)
- Step 1. Turn off the machine - Power down the unit by pressing the on/off switch.
- Step 2. Disconnect the power - Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
- Step 3. Remove the powder container - Pull the safety catch and then lift the powder container out of the machine.
- Step 4. Clean the container - Empty the powder container and then clean it with a damp cloth.
- Step 5. Brush individual parts - Take out smaller parts within the powder container by unscrewing the cap nuts and then pulling out the portioning screw and removing the discharge cap. Once these parts are free, brush them with the supplied cleaning brush.
- Step 6. Reinstall the parts - Return the portioning screw and discharge cap to the container before screwing in the cap nuts.
- Step 7. Reattach the powder container - Return the powder container to the unit.
- Step 8. Refill the container - Fill the bin with powder.
