T&S Brass Faucet Troubleshooting: Common Leaks

Faucets leak. When you find an issue, you’ll want to fix it to avoid wasting water and to keep your sink working like normal. Here are the common leaks found in faucets as well as what’s causing them:

  • Faucet - If the spout is leaking, replace the seal between the outlet tip and nozzle.
  • Cartridge Spindle - Replace the washer as a worn washer could be letting water leak into the spout.
  • Faucet Handle - Replace the worn packing inside of the leaky handle by removing the bonnet nut, removing the old packing and using new materials to replace it.
  • Bonnet Base - The top gasket is worn and will need to be replaced.
  • Nozzle Base - This means the swivel O-ring has worn.
  • Coupling Flange - This is caused by old gaskets.
  • Hose - The hose has been punctured and needs repair.
  • Spray Face - The rubber bumper is worn.
  • Spray Face Opening - If the spray face is leaking, the bonnet assembly needs to be replaced.
