Trane CleanEffects Filter Cleaning

Below we'll help guide you through Trane CleanEffects filter cleaning so your machine can keep the air clean and flowing.
Filter Cleaning
The pre-filter should be cleaned every two months or ten weeks of actual run time.
- Step 1. Turn off thermostat - Use the comfort control (thermostat) to turn off the system.
- Step 2. Power off unit - Press the power button for three seconds to turn off the system. Wait about 15 seconds for the LED lights to turn off. Once the lights are off this means the voltage has discharged.
- Step 3. Disconnect power/control cable - disconnect the power/control cable to ensure user safety.
- Step 4. Remove door - Rotate the two latches to remove the door panel.
- Step 5. Remove pre-filter - Remove the pre-filter and/or the collection cells from the unit.
- Step 6. Vacuum pre-filter - Use a vacuum in even strokes across the length of the pre-filter in one direction. After, repeat the process using even strokes going in the opposite direction.
- Step 7. Vacuum collection cells - Use a vacuum hose in even strokes across the collection cell surface in one direction. After, repeat the process using even strokes in the opposite direction.
- Step 8. Reinsert pre-filter - Reinsert the pre-filter and/of the collection cells into the unit.
- Step 9. Put door back on - Place the door panel back onto the unit.
- Step 10. Power unit back up - Plug the unit back in and turn the unit on again.
