Unox ovens use cutting-edge technology to cook food quickly and evenly. Even though their innovative design minimizes issues, general wear and tear can still cause problems. If your machine isn’t working like it should, this Unox oven troubleshooting guide will help you diagnose and solve issues so you can keep your unit in good working order.

This information is for gas and electric CHEFTOP MIND.Maps ovens like the XACC-0513-EPRM and XAVL-2021-DPRS.

Oven Doesn’t Turn On

  • Unit isn’t plugged in - Plug in the unit.
  • Unit isn’t turned on - Turn on the unit.
  • Power board is damaged - Contact a licensed technician to remedy the issue.
  • F2 or F4 fuse of the power board is blown - Reach out to an authorized technician for service.
  • Transformer is shorted - Call an authorized technician to address the problem.
  • Circuit breaker is off or tripped/fuse is blown - Turn the circuit breaker on. If issues persist, contact a licensed electrician for assistance. 

Gas Oven Doesn’t Heat Up (Flame Icon Is Displayed, Motors Are Running Normally)

  • Gas power board is damaged - Schedule a service appointment with an authorized technician.
  • F7 fuse on the gas power board is blown - Seek a licensed technician for assistance.
  • F9 fuse on the gas power board is blown - Contact an authorized technician to remedy the issue.

Electric Oven Doesn’t Heat Up

  • Phase is missing - Plug the unit into another socket.
  • Heating elements or contactors are damaged - Schedule an appointment with a licensed technician to service the unit.

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) Is Triggered When You Power on the Unit

  • Transformer has an electrical leakage - Call a licensed technician to remedy the problem.

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) Is Triggered When the Control Board Reboots

  • Back-cooling fan has an electrical leakage - Reach out to an authorized technician for assistance.

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) Is Triggered and the Circuit Breaker is Triggered When the Oven Runs a Cooking or Cleaning Program

  • At least one motor has an electrical leakage - Call a licensed technician for service.
  • At least one heating element has an electrical leakage - Contact an authorized technician to remedy the issue.
  • Steam solenoid valve has an electrical leakage - Schedule a service appointment with a licensed technician.
  • DRY.Maxi solenoid has an electrical leakage - Reach out to an authorized technician to address the issue.
  • Water solenoid valve has an electrical leakage - Seek out a licensed technician for help.
  • Detergent pump has an electrical leakage - Get in touch with an authorized technician to solve the problem.

Circuit Breaker Is Triggered When the Control Board Reboots

  • Back-cooling fan is shorted - Contact a licensed technician to address the issue.

Circuit Breaker is Triggered When the Oven Runs a Cooking or Washing Program

  • At least one motor is shorted - Seek out a licensed technician to remedy the issue.
  • At least one heating element is shorted - Schedule a service appointment with an authorized technician.
  • Steam solenoid valve is shorted - Call a licensed technician to solve the problem.
  • DRY.Maxi solenoid is shorted - Contact an authorized technician to address the issue.
  • One of the water solenoid valves is shorted - Reach out to a licensed technician for help.
  • Detergent pump is shorted - Get in touch with an authorized technician for assistance.

Cleaning Cycle Isn’t Effective

  • Inlet water pressure is too low - Contact an authorized technician for assistance.
  • Power supply to the chemical pump is insufficient - Get in touch with a licensed technician to remedy the issue.
  • Oven doesn’t pump in cleaning chemical - Call an authorized technician to address the issue.
  • Oven doesn’t pump in water - Schedule a service appointment with a licensed technician.
  • Trays are left inside the cooking chamber during the cycle - Remove the trays from the cooking chamber before running a cleaning cycle.
  • UNOX detergent and rinse chemical isn’t used - Use the approved chemical.
  • Unit isn’t cleaning frequently - Run a cleaning cycle more frequently.

Oven Doesn’t Cook Evenly

  • P-trap isn’t installed - Contact a licensed technician to address the issue.
  • P-trap is empty - Fill the p-trap by pouring a jar of water into the drain.
  • Gasket is damaged - Replace the gasket.
  • Chimney is clogged - Clean the chimney with a metal brush.
  • DRY.Maxi system is open - Call an authorized technician to correct the issue.
  • Motors don’t invert the sense of rotation (speed of the motor is less than the value of the “MAX SPEED NO INVERSION” parameter) - It’s normal for the motors to not invert when the speed is less than the value of the parameter.
  • Motors don’t invert the sense of rotation (speed of the motor is greater than the value of the “MAX SPEED NO INVERSION” parameter) - Get in touch with a licensed technician to address the problem.
  • Temperature probe near the fan/bottom of the cooking chamber isn’t calibrated - Schedule an appointment with an authorized technician to remedy the issue.
  • Temperature probes are switched or damaged - Reach out to a licensed technician for assistance.
  • Power board is defective - Seek out an authorized technician to solve the problem.

Spots and Smears on Stainless Steel and Glasses After a Washing Cycle

  • Water is too hard - Install a water softener.

Cooking Cabinet Has Rust on the Stainless Steel

  • Chloride in the water is too high - Schedule a service appointment with a licensed technician. In order to maintain the aesthetics of the unit, clean the affected surfaces with polish.

Oven Doesn’t Produce Steam

  • Water pressure isn’t correct - Contact a licensed plumber to correct the issue.
  • Oven isn’t pumping water - Open the tap water. If the issue persists, contact a licensed technician for service.

Control Panel is Blank

  • Control panel doesn’t have power - Reach out to an authorized technician to correct the issue.
  • Control panel is damaged - Get in touch with a licensed technician to solve the problem.
  • USB board is damaged - Call an authorized technician to remedy the issue.

Control Panel Is Completely White

  • LCD screen is damaged - Contact a licensed technician to address the issue.

Control Panel Isn’t Very Bright

  • LCD screen is damaged - Call an authorized technician to correct the issue.

Control Panel Color Is Faded

  • LCD screen is damaged - Schedule an appointment with a licensed technician for service.

Vertical or Horizontal Lines on the Control Panel

  • LCD screen is damaged - Get in touch with an authorized technician to remedy the issue.

Control Panel Isn’t Responding

  • LCD screen may be damaged - Wait about 5 minutes for the issue to correct itself; if the problem persists, reach out to an authorized technician for assistance.

Buzzer Doesn’t Sound

  • Control panel is defective - Seek out a licensed technician to remedy the issue.
  • USB board is defective - Contact an authorized technician to address the issue.

Contactors Are Chattering

  • Metal dust is on the contact - Use compressed air to clean the contact of the contactors.
  • Relay on the power board is defective - Call a licensed technician to correct the problem.
