Supplies

Clean your unit daily to enhance its appearance and extend its lifespan. Avoid using abrasive cleaners like steel wool or harsh chemicals like chlorine as these can damage the machine. Also, don’t use high-pressure water from a hose, and never submerge the power cord or any other part in water.

Powering Down the Unit

  • Step 1. Reduce the temperature - Rotate the thermostat control to the lowest setting.
  • Step 2. Turn off the light - Power down the lights by turning the light switch to the “OFF” position.
  • Step 3. Unplug the machine - Disconnect the unit from power by unplugging the power cord from the electrical outlet.

Pre-Cleaning Procedure

  • Step 1. Allow the unit to cool - Let the unit cool down until it’s safe to clean. In most cases, 30 minutes should be enough time.
  • Step 2. Unload the unit - Remove any food product from the machine, then either place it in another unit or discard.
  • Step 3. Empty the water pan (if using) - Remove the water pan from the unit and empty its contents. Be sure to wear protective gloves to reduce the risk of injury. If you’re not using the water pan, skip this step.

Cleaning the Unit

  • Step 1. Wash the non-glass surfaces and water pan - Clean interior walls, exterior body, metal racks and water pan with warm water, mild detergent and a soft sponge.
  • Step 2. Rinse the surfaces - Wipe away any remaining residues or suds with a damp cloth.
  • Step 3. Dry the unit - Soak up any excess moisture with a clean cloth.
  • Step 4. Maintain the glass - Spray non-toxic cleaner on the glass surfaces, wipe with a soft cloth and then buff immediately to remove any streaks.

Resuming Normal Operation

  • Step 1. Plug in the unit - Connect the machine to power by plugging the power cord into an electrical outlet.
  • Step 2. Set the temperature - Turn the temperature control knob to the desired setting.
  • Step 3. Turn on the lights - Power on the lights by turning the light switch to the “ON” position.
  • Step 4. Load the water pan (if using) - Fill the water pan and place it in the unit, if needed. If you’re not using a water pan, bypass this step.
  • Step 5. Resume normal operation - You may now use the unit normally.
