How to Sanitize a Vollrath Refrigerated Beverage Dispenser
- Step 1—Using an OEM-approved sanitizer, follow directions to create a 100 ppm strength solution.
- Step 2—Mix the sanitizer with warm water (around 90°F to 110°F / 32°C to 43°C).
- Step 3—Check the strength of the sanitizing solution mixture by using a chlorine test strip. It should be at 100 ppm.
- Step 4—Pour the solution mixture into the bowl of the unit.
- Step 5—Using a soft cleaning brush, wipe the solution mixture onto all parts of the bowl above the mixture level and wipe the underside of the cover.
- Step 6—Install the cover.
- Step 7—Plug in the unit and turn it on to operate for 5 minutes.
- Step 8—Once the 5 minutes are up, place a container under the spigot and press the handle to drain the solution mixture. Don’t discard the mixture.
- Step 9—Test the mixture with a chlorine test strip: if it reads 100 ppm or more, the unit has been properly sanitized, but if it reads less than 100 ppm you will have to sanitize the unit again. If a test strip still yields a result of less than 100 ppm after re-sanitizing, the unit will have to be washed again.
- Step 10—When you’ve achieved a reading of 100 ppm or more, turn off the unit. It’ll be ready to have beverages added to it.
