Wilbur Curtis Tea Brewer Troubleshooting

In the unlikely event that your tea brewer isn’t acting as it should, it’s vital to take action quickly. Learn how to solve these commonly seen issues and troubleshoot them with our handy guide.
This guide is applicable for the TCT-35 and TCT-35S iced tea brewer models.
Problem: Hot or cold water doesn’t dispense when the brew switch is pushed
Causes
- Water line is turned off or clogged
- Brew switch is faulty (WC-122)
- Brew timer is faulty
Solutions
- Check the water inlet pressure and replace the filter cartridge to remove any obstructions.
- NOTE: The minimum pressure on the inlet valve should be 20 psi
- Have the continuity checked on the brew switch connections. Have the switch replaced as necessary.
- Have the voltage checked. If there’s no voltage, have the brew timer replaced.
Problem: Hot water isn’t flowing from sprayhead OR Cold water isn’t flowing from outlet
Causes
- Water inlet valve is faulty
- Brew timer is faulty
Solutions
- Have the inlet valve checked and replaced.
- Have the voltage checked. If there’s no voltage, have the brew timer replaced.
Problem: Water in heating tank is not heating
Causes
- Thermostat is turned off
- Heating element is damaged or inoperable
Solutions
- Check to see if the thermostat is turned off or on. Turn the stem clockwise as far as it will go.
- Have the heating element checked and replaced if necessary.
