Won’t Dispense Syrup

If the machine doesn’t dispense syrup when you push the product button, look for the following:

  • Empty syrup tank or BIB container – Reload the tank or replace the BIB container.
  • Bad connection at the syrup tank or BIB container – See if the product is connected at the BIB container’s outlet fitting and the pump. Also, check if the CO2 supply is properly connected to syrup tank or BIB pump.
  • Kinked product or pump inlet line – Unkink or uncrimp the product or pump inlet line.
  • Closed shutoff screw – Open the shutoff screw.
  • Overly fastened brix screw – Open the brix screw.

Won’t Dispense Soda

If you push the soda button but no soda dispenses, check for the potential issues below:

  • Unplugged carbonator – Plug the carbonator back in. If it’s already plugged in, check the power source.
  • No water supply to the carbonator – Check the water supply to the unit.
  • Kinked soda line – Unkink or uncrimp the soda line.
  • Closed shutoff screw – Open the shutoff screw.
  • Overly fastened brix screw – Open the brix screw.
  • Improper butterfly configuration – Refer to the operator’s manual to ensure the butterfly configuration is being used on the dispenser.

Won’t Dispense Water

If the gun isn’t dispensing water when you press the water button, see if the following problems are present:

  • No water supply – Check if the water supply to the unit is on.
  • Kinked water line – Unkink or uncrimp the water line.
  • Closed shutoff screw – Open the shutoff screw.
  • Overly fastened brix screw – Open the brix screw.
  • Improper butterfly configuration – Refer to the operator’s manual to ensure the butterfly configuration is being used on the dispenser.

Dispenses Wrong Soda or Product

If the unit isn’t dispensing the right soda or product, check for the following:

  • BIB container is connected to the wrong pump – Connect the BIB product container to the correct BIB pump.
  • Wrong product tube is out of position – Make sure the product tubing’s connection is in the right position at the brix manifold.

Product Tastes Watered Down or Syrupy

If the soda gun is dispensing watered down or syrupy beverage, see if the following issues are present:

  • Dispenser is brixed at the wrong operating temperature – The cold plate needs to be iced down properly.
  • Incorrect CO2 supply to the containers or pumps – Adjust the settings to the CO2 supply and regulators.
  • Incorrect CO2 supply to the carbonator – Set the high-pressure regulator between 95-105 PSI.
  • Brix screws are out of position – If out of position, adjust the brix screw on the soda and/or water positions as well as on the brix screws on the product.
  • Shutoff slot screws are out of position – Adjust the screws so flow runs in the same direction as the slot. Rebrix the dispenser.

Product Dispenses Continuously

If product keeps dispensing continuously after you push and release the button, look these possible issues:

  • Tight butterfly plates – They shouldn’t be too tight but just snug enough. If the butterfly plates are too tight, remove the button plate and loosen the butterfly retainers.
  • Debris is in the cork O-ring – Hold the hand over the nozzle and depress all buttons at once to back flush the dispenser. This could help dislodge particles to pass through the dispenser. If this doesn’t work, change cork O-ring.

Product Leaking or Oozing

If you ever see product leaking or oozing, the following might be present:

  • Oozes from under the button plate – If product oozes from under the plate while the button is depressed, it’s very likely that the stem O-ring is broken or worn out. Replace the O-ring to resolve.
  • Leaks or drips out of nozzle – The cork O-ring or molded valve is broken or worn out. You will need to replace the O-ring or the entire valve with a new molded valve stem.
  • Leaks around the bottom plate – The hat O-ring has likely failed and will need to be replaced.
