Chilling ingredients is key to quality and safety, and that's why so many places turn to the Delfield 6000XL cooler. This state-of-the-art unit operates efficiently and always keeps food at the right temperature with ease. In the rare case your Delfield 6000XL reach-in refrigerator isn't cooling properly, don't worry! The video above and tips below can help troubleshoot what's wrong. That way you can solve it or contact an authorized technician for more help quickly.

No Power or Off

When there isn't power to the unit look for the following:

  • Unplugged power cord - Check if the power cord isn't plugged. If it is, plug it back in.
  • Tripped circuit breaker - See if the circuit breaker in your facility's breaker box has tripped. If so, reset it.

Improper Ventilation

If there is poor ventilation, this can stop the cooler from reaching the proper temperature. Check for the following:

  • Too close to other unit - If the refrigerator is too close to another piece of equipment, make sure to space them appropriately.
  • Surrounded by "hot" equipment - Try to keep the unit away from spaces that features fryers, griddles, ovens and other hot equipment.
  • Dirty condenser coil - Make sure to clean the condenser coil every 30-90 days, depending on your space.
  • Dirty evaporator - Clean any ice or debris around the evaporator assembly.

Too Hot or Cold

Is the temperature off? Look for the following:

  • Thermostat is incorrect - Adjust the thermostat so it's at the right temperature setting
  • Thermostat is broken - If you have a faulty thermostat, please have it replaced by an authorized technician.
  • Door is open too long or frequently - Grab ingredients quickly and in fewer trips.
  • Dirty condenser coil - Make sure to clean the condenser coil every 30-90 days, depending on your space.
  • Dirty evaporator - Clean any ice or debris around the evaporator assembly.
  • Too much product in one spot - Your unit shouldn't be crowded. Spread the product out or move to another cooler.
