How to Clean an Oven with Lemon & Water

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Lemons
  • Water in oven-safe dish
  • Soft cloth
  • Gloves

Shop from all cleaning tools and supplies.

Procedure

  • Step 1. Put on gloves - Put on kitchen-grade cleaning gloves to keep your hands dry.
  • Step 2. Add lemon to water - Cut a lemon in half, squeeze the juice into the water-filled dish, and add the lemon halves to the water.
  • Step 3. Place the lemon water into the oven - Place the dish into your oven, and turn your oven on. Set your oven’s temperature to at least 200° F to generate steam.
  • Step 4. Wait for steaming - Wait 20-30 minutes to let the steam penetrate stuck-on grime.
  • Step 5. Remove the dish and turn the oven off - Remove the dish carefully and turn your oven off. Let your oven cool down.
  • Step 6. Remove the oven rack and clean the interior - Remove the oven racks and wipe down the interior with a clean, soft cloth.
