Knowing when and how to replace the door gasket of your Delfield 6000XL refrigeration unit is crucial preventative maintenance knowledge. If you notice significant wear or cracks on your gasket, it’s time for a new one. Thankfully, the process of replacing your door gasket is simple. Replacing a 6000XL Door Gasket
Step 1—Remove the old gasket by pulling it out of the grooves.
NOTE—Turn the unit off and remove food before starting.
Step 2—Clean the grooves in the door using warm water, mild detergent and a cleaning cloth.
Step 3—Take the new gasket and place it in the sink. Soak it in hot water to soften it. Dry it off with a towel after 5-10 minutes.
Step 4—Locate the dart on the new gasket.
Step 5—Press the gasket dart into the grooves, starting at the top corners. Next, press the gasket dart into the bottom corners, then press the gasket dart into the sides and any remaining grooves around the door.
