Beverage-Air Kegerator Troubleshooting

Keeping beverages at the perfect temperature is easy with the right equipment. However when power or cooling issues get in the way, you could be stuck with lukewarm drinks. So what’s to be done when refrigeration equipment won’t seem to be turning on? Parts Town has just the fix you need. Try out these Beverage-Air kegerator troubleshooting tips to get the unit back on and to temperature.

Beverage-Air Kegerator Isn’t Cooling

Refrigeration equipment needs to be cool in order to keep drinks at the proper temperature. So when you notice things are warm, try these fixes:

  • Power cord is unplugged - If the unit got cleaned previously, it was probably unplugged and maybe someone forgot to plug it back in. Try checking the outlet to see if that’s the culprit.
  • Circuit breaker is tripped - A simple reset by flipping the switch can help resolve a tripped circuit breaker.
  • Thermostat is off - The thermostat is vital for ensuring the kegerator is powered and at the right temperature. If you notice it’s turned off or set too warm, power it on and make sure the temperature is set properly.
  • Door is left open - If the door is left ajar, cool air can escape. Be sure the door is securely shut to keep the interior cold.
  • Condenser coil is dirty - Condenser coils help keep cooling equipment running as efficiently as possible. So if dust and debris is clogging them up, you’ll need to clean the condenser coils to get the unit cooling again.
  • Evaporator is iced over - The evaporator is needed in order for the unit to operate properly. If it’s iced over, run a manual defrost to remedy it.
  • Surrounding environment is too hot - Refrigeration equipment can be influenced by surrounding temperatures. So whether the room is warm or the unit is located near hot equipment like fryers and ovens, it can cause the unit to not cool. Try locating the unit around other cold equipment or adjust the temperature for the room.
  • Compressor is running too long and loudly - This issue needs to be remedied by an authorized service technician. Unload the unit and turn it off while waiting for it to be repaired.

Beverage-Air Kegerator is Too Cool

While you want beverages to stay cool, you don’t want them to freeze.

  • Temperature controller is improperly set - The kegerator thermostat can be adjusted. If it seems to be set too cold and is a freezing product, then adjust the temperature accordingly.

Beverage-Air Kegerator Runs Continuously

You might have noticed it seems like the unit seems to be on all the time. If this is the case, the following could be the cause:

  • Condenser coil is dirty - Condenser coils help keep cooling equipment running as efficiently as possible. So if dust and debris is clogging them up, you’ll need to clean the condenser coils to get the unit cooling again.
