As plates and silverware go out to customers so they can enjoy their meals, they’re going to eventually come back to the kitchen dirty and in need of a good cleaning. Working warewashing equipment is a must so you can refresh those dishes and have them ready for the next customer. So if something like a lack of power or a leak has caused the unit to stop running, Parts Town is here to help. This guide is full of commercial door-type dishwasher troubleshooting tips that are sure to help you get the unit back up and running.

Not Washing or Working

If the unit just isn’t starting up, the following could be the culprit:

  • Wash manifold isn’t rotating – Clear away obstructions by removing and cleaning the plugged manifolds.
  • Low water level in the tank – Adjust the fill float.
  • Tripped pump motor – Reset the overload and check for any obstructions.
  • Power cord is unplugged or damaged – Check the outlet and plug in the unit. Inspect the power cord to verify it isn’t frayed or damaged.
  • Unit is turned off – If the power switch is in the off position, turn it on.
  • Circuit breaker is off or tripped – Verify the circuit breaker switch is in the on position. If it’s already powered up, try resetting it in case it was tripped.

Leaking from Door

A dishwasher that leaks water and suds is only going to cause an even bigger mess than dirty dishes. The following fixes should help:

  • Dish rack is missing from the machine – Properly seat the dish rack, with dishes, into the machine.
  • Wash manifold isn’t rotating – Clear away obstructions by removing and cleaning the plugged manifolds.
  • Door is out of adjustment – Contact an authorized service technician to repair or replace the door.

Please contact a local authorized service agent who can help with these specific units and all your commercial kitchen equipment needs.
