How to Clean a Commercial Vertical Contact Toaster

This guide will show you how to clean a commercial vertical contact toaster so you can be ready to make burgers, breakfast sandwiches and more with perfectly toasted buns and bread.
Supplies
- Heat resistant gloves
- Sponge
- Cleaning cloths
- Water
- Dish soap
- OEM PTFE release sheet
- Stainless steel cleaner
Cleaning Instructions
It’s important to clean a commercial vertical contact toaster daily.
- Step 1. Power down the unit by turning it off and unplugging the power cord.
- Note: Let the unit cool down before cleaning.
- Step 2. Open the front and back conveyor covers to access the belts.
- Note: Where heat resistant gloves if the unit is still warm.
- Step 3. Clean the front and back side of the conveyor belt with soapy water and a sponge.
- Step 4. Remove the PTFE release sheet.
- Step 5. Inspect the release sheet to determine if it’s dirty or damaged.
- Note: If it’s damaged, replace it with a new one and skip to step 8.
- Step 6. Clean the release sheet with a sponge and soapy water.
- Step 7. Rinse and dry the release sheet.
- Step 8. Rinse the conveyor belt with a damp cloth.
- Step 9. Use a separate cloth to dry the conveyor belt.
- Step 10. Install either the cleaned or a new release sheet.
- Step 11. Close the conveyor covers.
- Step 12. Clean the exterior with a cloth and stainless steel cleaner.
