How to Clean a Groen Steam Kettle
Steam kettles are an ideal piece of equipment for cooking large batches of product and still achieving consistent temperatures. Granted, if the unit isn’t well maintained, it may leave you with subpar product. That’s why Parts Town is here to show you how to clean a Groen steam kettle so you can keep it looking like new.
Supplies:
- Nylon tool or long brush
- Water
- Bucket
- Dish soap
- Soft-bristle brush
- Cloth
- Sanitizing solution
Groen Steam Kettle Cleaning Instructions
Cleaning on a commercial steam kettle should be done routinely to keep it running in peak condition.
- Step 1. Power down the unit - Press the switch to turn the unit off and allow it to cool down.
- Step 2. Scrap the interior - Use a nylon tool or long brush to scrap the kettle’s interior.
- Note. Don’t use a metal tool.
- Step 3. Add water - Pour water into the kettle and scrape any remaining product.
- Note. Don’t use a hose or power washer.
- Step 4. Empty the kettle - Pour out water and loose product into a bucket by tilting the kettle.
- Step 5. Add soap - Pour a solution of mild dish soap and water into the kettle.
- Step 6. Wash the interior - Use a soft-bristle brush to scrub the kettle interior.
- Step 7. Empty the kettle - Pour out the dish soap solution into a bucket by tilting the kettle.
- Step 8. Rinse the kettle - Pour clean water into the kettle and wipe it down with a cloth.
- Step 9. Empty the kettle - Pour the water into a bucket by tilting the kettle.
- Step 10. Sanitize the kettle - Add a sanitizing solution to the kettle and coat thoroughly with a cloth.
- Note. Check the sanitizer label for proper ratios.
- Step 11. Rinse the kettle - Remove any sanitizer solution inside the kettle with a damp cloth.
- Step 12. Dry the kettle - Let the kettle air dry.
